Kim Smith (footballer)
Kim Smith (23 June 1952 – 16 September 2009) was an Australian rules footballer who played for Prahran in the Victorian Football Association (VFA) and Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Smith made his debut at Prahran in 1974 and finished the year as their top goal-kicker with 55 goals. The following season he played for Melbourne but could only manage four appearances. He then returned to Prahran and was their leading goal-kicker every year until his retirement in 1982, eight times in total. His tally of 97 goals in 1979 was the joint most by any player in the league and he shared the leading goal-kicker award with Geelong West Geelong West is a commercial and residential suburb of Geelong, Victoria, Australia. Prahran Assumption Football Club (), nicknamed The Two Blues, is an Australian rules football club based at Toorak Park in Orrong Road between High Street and Malvern Road, Armadale, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The club is currently in Division 1 of the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA). Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the oval ball between the central goal posts (worth six points), or between a central and outer post (worth one point, otherwise known as a "behind"). The Victorian Football League (VFL) is an Australian rules football league in Australia serving as one of the second-tier regional semi-professional competitions which sit underneath the fully professional Australian Football League (AFL). It includes teams from clubs based in the eastern states of Australia: Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, and includes reserves teams for the east coast AFL clubs. The league evolved from the former Victorian Football Association (VFA), and it has been known by its current name since 1996. Geelong West Football Club
The Geelong West St Peters Football Club was an Australian rules football club that last competed in the Geelong Football League (GFL) from 1989 until the end of the 2016 season. Prior to its merger with St Peters Football Club in 1989, the club played in the Victorian Football Association (VFA) from 1963 until 1988. Geelong West, nicknamed the 'Roosters', wore white and red during its time in the Association.
