Kim Ryon-mi
Kim Ryon-mi ( ko, 김련미; born February 8, 1983) is a North Korean judoka, who competed in the women's middleweight category. She captured two silver medals in the 70-kg division at the Asian Judo Championships (2004 and 2005), and finished seventh at the 2004 Summer Olympics, representing her nation North Korea. Kim qualified for the North Korean squad in the women's middleweight class (70 kg) at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, by placing second and receiving a berth from the Asian Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan. She easily thwarted Angola's Antonia Moreira with an earth-shattering ippon in her opening match, before succumbed to a similar tactic and an sumi gaeshi (corner reversal) hold from Australia's Catherine Arlove. Catherine Arlove (born 5 February 1971 in Malvern, Victoria) is an Australian judoka who has also represented Australia in wrestling and competed at a national level in cycling. Arlove has won ten Gold medals at the Australian National Judo Championships. Catherine Jacques
Catherine Jacques (born 28 September 1979, in Merksem) is a Belgian judoka who competed in the middleweight category (70 kg). She is a multiple-time national champion, and a four-time bronze medalist for her category at the European Judo Championships. At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Jacques missed out of the Olympic podium in the women's 70 kg category, after she was defeated by Germany's Annett Böhm, who scored an ippon within thirty-eight seconds, in the bronze medal match. She was able to fight back against her opponent for a rematch to capture the bronze medal, this time at the 2005 World Judo Championships in Cairo, Egypt. At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, Jacques qualified again for the 70 kg category. is the second highest score a fighter can achieve in a Japanese martial arts ''ippon'' or ''waza-ari'' contest, usually judo, karate or jujutsu. ''Waza-ari'' in judo A ''waza-ari'' is the second highest score a fighter can achieve in judo, the others being a '' yuko'' (advantage) or, formerly, a ''koka''. An ''ippon'' would be the highest score, that once awarded, ends the match in favor of the athlete who scored it. The referee raises his arm laterally parallel to the ground to award ''waza-ari''.
