Kim Min-seo (badminton)
Kim Min-seo (; born 9 May 1987; as Kim Mi-young; ) is a South Korean badminton player. Kim graduated from the Incheon National University, and affiliated with the Samsung Electro-Mechanics team in 2010. She was part of the Korean junior team that won the silver medals at the 2004 Asian Junior Championships in the girls' team event, and World Junior Championships in the mixed team event. Kim competed at the 2009 East Asian Games in Hong Kong, winning the bronze medal in the women's team event. At the 2010 Australian Open Kim captured two titles in the women's and mixed doubles event. Badminton
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court. Each side may only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net. Play ends once the shuttlecock has struck the floor or if a fault has been called by the umpire, service judge, or (in their absence) the opposing side. The shuttlecock is a feathered or (in informal matches) plastic projectile which flies differently from the balls used in many other sports. Bae Seung-hee
Bae Seung-hee (; born 20 September 1983) is a badminton player from South Korea. She is best remembered for her role in South Korea's first ever Uber Cup victory in 2010. Bae was on the South Korean national team shortly after graduating from junior eligibility but from age 19 to 25, she played only for her domestic team Korea Ginseng Corporation, and competed overseas only twice between April 2003 and November 2008. She was called back to the national team after winning a national event in 2008 and in August 2009, she reached her first of two consecutive finals at the Chinese Taipei Open. In 2010, she played first singles at the Uber Cup and in the final, beat then world #1 Wang Yihan to begin South Korea's 3–1 victory. In 2011, Bae injured her thigh in a domestic tournament and as it caused her to miss the first part of the qualifying period for the London Olympics, she finally decided to leave international badminton at the age of 28. Chang Ye-na (; ; born 13 December 1989) is a South Korean badminton player who specializes in doubles. She competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She won gold medals at the 2013 Kazan Universiade in the mixed team and women's doubles event partnered with Kim So-yeong. Korea Masters
The Korea Masters is an international badminton tournament that usually held in November or December every year of BWF event calendar in South Korea. The total prize money in 2016 was US$120,000. Before 2010, the level of the tournament was an International Challenge, which is the fourth level tournament of international badminton tournament. It began in 2007, when it was held in Suwon, then it moved to Yeosu in 2008 and Hwasun in 2009. In 2010, it was turned into a BWF Grand Prix event. It became a BWF Grand Prix Gold event in 2011, and it remained at that level through the end of Grand Prix Gold in 2017, with the exception of 2014, when it changed back to Grand Prix status, the same year Korea hosted both the Asian Games and the Badminton Asia Championships. The tournament was held in cities in the southwest from 2011 to 2017: in Hwasun in 2011 and 2012, then in Jeonju for 2013 to 2015, then Seogwipo and Gwangju.
