Kim Jong-boo
Kim Jong-boo (Hangul: 김종부, born 13 January 1965) is a South Korean football manager and former player. He was one of the most influential footballers in South Korea during the 1980s. He is managing Chinese Super League club Hebei. Playing career In the 1983 FIFA World Youth Championship, Kim showed great performances including his two goals and two assists, leading South Korean under-20 team to the semi-finals. He became the most popular young footballer in South Korea after the World Youth Championship, and interested K League clubs. Prior to his graduation from Korea University, Kim wanted to join Daewoo Royals which was employing his former coach Lee Cha-man, but Korea University pressured on him to join Hyundai Horang-i due to their deal with Hyundai. Tongyeong
Tongyeong () is a coastal city in South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. In 2010, it had an area of and a population of 139,869 people. It is divided into 1 eup (town), 6 myeon (township) and 11 dong (neighborhood). Chungmu city and Tongyeong county were reunited in 1995, creating Tongyeong City as it is known today. The Korean National Football Championship ( ko, 전국축구선수권대회) was a South Korean football competition for semi-professional and amateur senior football clubs. It was held annually in the second half of the year. This competition was originally one of major club competitions of South Korean football, but its status was undermined after the professional clubs appeared in South Korea with the foundation of the professional league, K League. K-League 1988
The 1988 Korean Professional Football League was the sixth season of K League. A total of five teams participated in the league, all of them were professional teams. The season began on 26 March 1988 and ended on 12 November 1988. The season was operated in single stage, and every team played each other six times. This season caused a controversy over the selection of the Most Valuable Player. The majority opinion of outsiders was that Lee Kee-keun should receive the MVP Award, but the Korean Professional Football Committee chose Park Kyung-hoon, who played only 12 games in the league due to his schedule in the national team. Park also tried to return the award, but the committee rejected his decision. 1986 FIFA World Cup
The 1986 FIFA World Cup was the 13th FIFA World Cup, a quadrennial football tournament for men's senior national teams. It was played in Mexico from 31 May to 29 June 1986. The tournament was the second to feature a 24-team format. Colombia had been originally chosen to host the competition by FIFA but, largely due to economic reasons, was not able to do so, and resigned in 1982. Mexico was selected as the new host in May 1983, and became the first country to host the World Cup more than once, after previously hosting in 1970. K League (Hangul: K리그) is South Korea's professional football league. It includes first division K League 1 and second division K League 2.
