Kim Johnson (musician)
Kim Johnson is an American back-up vocalist for headlining artists such as Robin Thicke, Rod Stewart and The Isley Brothers. She has also sung with the funk group Earth, Wind & Fire. Biography Kim grew up in Los Angeles, California and started out singing in church. Along with her sisters, Krystal and Kandy, she has worked with several gospel artists, including Andrae Crouch and Shirley Caesar. JS, which is abbreviated for Johnson Sisters, originally consisted of Kim along with sisters Krystal and Kandy. Krystal however, left the group after marrying Phillip Bailey of R&B group Earth, Wind & Fire. As a duo Kim & Kandy released their debut, and so far, only album, produced by R. Kelly, entitled ''Ice Cream'', in July 2003. Kim Marie Johnson (born 25 August 1966) is a British Labour Party politician. She has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Liverpool Riverside since the 2019 general election. She is Liverpool's first black MP. She is a member of the Socialist Campaign Group parliamentary caucus. Early life and career Kim is the daughter of Joseph Johnson and Kathleen Johnson. She has a Diploma in Youth and Community Work, a BA in Social Studies, and a Postgraduate Certificate. Since 2015, Johnson has been the Chairperson of Squash Liverpool, a Community Interest Company. In 2020, she became a patron of Mandela8. Prior to becoming an MP, Johnson was a Unison shop steward. She held a role of creative diversity manager in the Capital of Culture bid team, representing the longest established black community in the country.
