Kim Hyung-il
Kim Hyung-il (; born 27 April 1984) is a South Korean footballer who currently plays as defender for Navy. Career In March 2009, he was selected for the South Korea national football team. On 3 June 2009, he played at first senior level game against Oman national football team. On 24 December 2016, Kim joined Chinese Super League champions Guangzhou Evergrande on a half-year contract for free transfer. He left Guangzhou in June 2017 without playing any match for the club. Kim joined K League 2 side Bucheon FC 1995 on 29 June 2017. After retiring from football, Kim signed with DH Entertainment. Korean FA Cup
The Korean FA Cup is a national football cup knockout competition of South Korea, held annually by the Korea Football Association (KFA). Before the FA Cup was established in 1996, two predecessor competitions named All Joseon Football Tournament (1921–1940) and Korean National Football Championship (1946–2000) were played, but the FA Cup did not succeed their records. The winner qualifies to the next season's AFC Champions League group stage. History The All Joseon Football Tournament was founded by the Joseon Sports Council in 1921, during Japanese rule in Korea. Youth, student and adult football clubs from various provinces participated. 2009 AFC Champions League
The 2009 AFC Champions League was the 28th edition of the top-level Asian club football tournament organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), and the 7th under the current AFC Champions League title. The final was held at the National Stadium in Tokyo on 7 November 2009. The winners, South Korean club Pohang Steelers, qualified for the 2009 FIFA Club World Cup in the United Arab Emirates. The champions league was expanded to 35 clubs this year, with 5 teams starting from a knockout qualifying stage. An extra stage in the knockout phase was added so that the runners up as well as the winners from the group stage would progress. The previous season winner no longer got a bye through to the knockout round. Each team was allowed to field a maximum of four foreign players this season, one of whom had to be from an AFC Member Association country. AFC Champions League
The AFC Champions League (abbreviated as ACL) is an annual continental club football competition organised by the Asian Football Confederation, and contested by Asia's top-division football clubs. It is the most prestigious club competition in Asian football, played by the national league champions (and, for some nations, one or more runners-up) of their national associations. Introduced in 1967 as the Asian Champion Club Tournament, the competition rebranded and took on its current name in 2002 as a result of the merger between the Asian Club Championship, the Asian Cup Winners' Cup and the Asian Super Cup. A total of 40 clubs compete in the round-robin group stage of the competition. 2009 K-League Cup
The 2009 Korean League Cup, also known as the Peace Cup Korea 2009, was the 22nd competition of the Korean League Cup. It began on 25 March 2009, and ended on 16 September 2009. Group stage All K League clubs excluding participating clubs of the 2009 AFC Champions League entered the group stage. Clubs ranked odd-numbered places in the 2008 K League were assigned to the Group A, and even-numbered clubs were assigned to the Group B. The fledgling club Gangwon FC entered the Group A. The 2013 K League Classic was the 31st season of the top division of South Korean professional football. The South Korean professional football league, K League, was split into two divisions since this year, and the top division was named the "K League Classic". Its fixtures were announced on 30 January, and began on 2 March. The 2010 K League, officially known as Sonata K-League 2010, was the 28th season of the K League. It was sponsored by Hyundai Motor Company, and was held from 27 February to 5 December 2010. The 2011 South Korean football match-fixing scandal, K League match-fixing scandal, the biggest incident in history of South Korean football, occurred in this season, and was revealed in 2011. 15 matches were fixed by 47 players, and they were banned for life from working in football. 2008 K League
The 2008 K League was the 26th season of the K League. The regular season and playoffs' format was the same as the one used in the 2007 season. It began on March 8, and the final of the playoffs finished on 7 December. On 2 August 2008, the first ever Jomo Cup kicked off. The K League All-Stars squared off against the J.League All-Stars at the Japan National Stadium. Lee Woon-jae was selected as the K League All-Star Team's captain and Cha Bum-kun managed the squad. The K League 1 (Hangul: K리그1) is the men's top professional football division of the South Korean football league system. The league is contested by twelve clubs. History The South Korean professional football league was founded in 1983 as the "Korean Super League", with five member clubs. The initial five clubs were Hallelujah FC, Yukong Elephants, Pohang Steelworks, Daewoo Royals, Kookmin Bank. Hallelujah FC won the inaugural title, finishing one point ahead of Daewoo Royals to lift the crown. The Super League was renamed the "Korean Professional Football League", and introduced the home and away system in 1987. It was once again renamed the "K League" in 1998.
