Kim Deschênes
Kim Deschênes (born August 7, 1991) is a Canadian ice hockey player, currently signed with the Montreal Force of the Premier Hockey Federation. She played five seasons with the Canadiennes de Montreal of the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL), until the league ceased operations in 2019. Playing career For five seasons, Deschênes competed with the Montreal Carabins women's ice hockey program in Canadian Interuniversity Sport play, capturing a national championship 2012. CWHL Selected in the first round of the 2014 CWHL Draft, Deschênes participated in the 2nd Canadian Women's Hockey League All-Star Game, which both took place at Toronto's Air Canada Centre. On December 31, 2015, Kim Deschênes and the Canadiennes participated in an outdoor women's ice hockey game against the NWHL's Boston Pride. Montreal Force
The Montreal Force (french: la Force de Montréal) are a professional ice hockey team in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). They are based in Montreal, Quebec and practice at the Verdun Auditorium. The team was established in 2022 and debuted in the 2022–23 PHF season. History Montreal was long planned as a location for a PHF expansion franchise, but uncertainties due to the then-ongoing COVID-19 pandemic led the league to delay such plans. An expansion franchise was announced by the league in July 2022, with the owners announced as BTM Partners, which also owns three other PHF teams. The 2014 CWHL Draft was held on August 19, 2014. With the first pick overall, the Brampton Thunder selected Laura Fortino from the Canadian National Women's Team. The defending Clarkson Cup champion Toronto Furies had the second pick overall, and selected Megan Bozek. 2014 Patty Kazmaier Award winner Jamie Lee Rattray was selected in the second round by Brampton. Captain (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, the captain is the player designated by a team as the only person authorized to speak with the game officials regarding rule interpretations when the captain is on the ice. At most levels of play each team must designate one captain and a number of alternate captains (usually two or three) who speak to the officials when the captain is on the bench. Captains wear a "C" on their sweaters, while alternate captains wear an "A". Officially captains have no other responsibility or authority, although they may, depending on the league or individual team, have various informal duties, such as participation in pre-game ceremonies or other events outside the game. 2016 Clarkson Cup
The 2016 Clarkson Cup was a women's ice hockey championship that was contested at Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario, the first contested on NHL ice, to determine the champion of the Canadian Women's Hockey League. Held on March 13, 2016, the Calgary Inferno defeated the Canadiennes de Montreal 8-3 to claim their first title. Blayre Turnbull, Brianne Jenner, Jessica Campbell and Rebecca Johnston each scored twice.
