Kilmore, Dublin
Kilmore () is a housing area of Dublin, Ireland, on the borders of the suburbs of Coolock, Artane, Santry and Beaumont. A smaller area within it is known as Kilmore West. The area is mostly housing estates, although there are public facilities such as schools, parks, shops and community centers. There is also a library and sports pitches nearby. Location and details The town is situated in an area bordering the towns of Coolock to the east and north, Santry to the west and Beaumont and Artane to the south. It lies between the Dublin 17 and Dublin 5 postal districts. There are three housing estates in Kilmore, Cromcastle, Castletimon and Kilbarron. Coolock () is a large suburban area, centred on a village, on Dublin city's Northside (Dublin), Northside in Republic of Ireland, Ireland. Coolock is crossed by the Santry River, a prominent feature in the middle of the district, with a linear park and ponds. Santry
Santry () is a suburb on the northside of Dublin, Ireland, bordering Coolock, Glasnevin, Kilmore and Ballymun. It straddles the boundary of Dublin City Council and Fingal County Council jurisdictions. The character of the area has changed in the last 100 years, from a district centred on a large estate, and later a small village, to a modern, rather dispersed, mixed-use suburb. Much of the old village is gone and where there were once fields full of crops, and wild woodlands of all sorts, there are now housing estates, an athletics stadium, a shopping complex, industrial parks, and busy roads leading to Dublin Airport which is nearby. Beaumont, Dublin
Beaumont () is a northside suburb of Dublin city, Ireland, bordered by Donnycarney, Santry and Artane. It lies within the postal district of Dublin 9. Etymology The name is derived from the French for "beautiful mount" as the parish is located atop an ascent from Fairview and is inspired by its clean air and views across Dublin to the Wicklow Mountains. The name was apparently given by Olivia Whitemore and Arthur Guinness in 1764, as they made their new family home in Beaumont House, a protected structure and can be visited today. History Beaumont was originally a farm in the Civil Parish of Coolock, between the townlands of Kilmore Big and Kilmore Little. It is the former home of the Guinness family from 1764-1855. Kilmore West
Kilmore West () is a locality within Dublin 5, situated on Dublin's Northside, Ireland. Located in the Dublin 5 district, it borders Santry, Beaumont, Artane, and Coolock. It is part of the larger Kilmore area. Kilmore West has national schools for both boys and girls, ''Scoil Fhursa'' and ''Scoil Ide'', respectively. It also has its own parish and Roman Catholic church, St. Luke the Evangelist, with the parish priest being, as of 2022, Fr. Gary.
