Paúl René Moreno Camacho ( 1992–18 May 2017) was a Venezuelan student and volunteer killed during the 2017 Venezuelan protests. Killing Paúl Moreno was a fifth-year medical student at the University of Zulia and was a volunteer paramedic for the . On 18 May 2017, Paúl was nearby the Fuerzas Armadas Avenue in Maracaibo, when the driver of a vehicle rammed over a barricade, running over him and escaping from the scene. Moreno was transferred to the Adolfo Pons Hospital, where he died at the age of 24. The killing of Paúl Moreno was documented in a report by a panel of independent experts from the Organization of American States, considering that it could constitute a crime against humanity committed in Venezuela along with other killings during the protests. Fabián Urbina ( 2000-19 June 2017) was a Venezuelan protester killed during the 2017 Venezuelan protests. Killing Urbina had been already wounded during a protest on 17 March near Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador in Maracay. On 19 June 2017, Urbina was participating in a protest at the Altamira distributor in Caracas when a National Guardsman fired a pistol at protesters, fatally wounding him and injuring five more. Urbina was transferred to the El Ávila clinic, where he was admitted without vital signs at the age of 17. The Public Ministry identified those responsible and ordered their arrest. The 2017 Venezuelan protests began in late January following the abandonment of Vatican-backed dialogue between the Bolivarian government and the opposition. The series of protests originally began in February 2014 when hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans protested due to high levels of criminal violence, inflation, and chronic scarcity of basic goods because of policies created by the Venezuelan government though the size of protests had decreased since 2014. David José Vallenilla Luis ( 1995 – 22 June 2017) was a Venezuelan student killed during the 2017 Venezuelan protests. Killing David Vallenilla was a graduate student in nursing. Son of David Vallenilla, who was the superior of Nicolás Maduro when he worked in the Caracas Metro. On 22 June 2017, Vallenilla was in a protest on the Francisco Fajardo highway, in Caracas, when a military official fired a shotgun at him from inside the La Carlota air base. He was wounded at the thorax level and was transferred to the El Ávila clinic, where he was admitted without vital signs at the age of 22.
