Killian Keane
Killian Keane is a retired Irish rugby union player. He was born in Skerries, County Dublin, Ireland in August 1971. Rugby career As a schoolboy, he was a member of the Skerries Community Games Rugby team which reached the All Ireland Final, losing to Regional (Limerick). He developed to the Skerries first team before being spotted by Frank Hogan who convinced Keane to join Garryowen RFC. He played at centre for Garryowen and Munster, and also won one cap for Ireland in 1998 as a replacement in a Five Nations match against England at Twickenham. Garryowen Football Club (Irish: ''Cumann Rugbaí Gharraí Eoin''), usually referred to as Garryowen, is a rugby union club from Limerick, Ireland. It plays in Division 1A of the All-Ireland League and historically has been one of the most successful clubs in Irish rugby union. History The club was formed in 1884. Munster Rugby ( ga, Rugbaí Mumhan) is one of the four professional provincial rugby teams from the island of Ireland. The United Rugby Championship (URC) is an annual rugby union competition involving professional teams from Ireland, Italy, Scotland, South Africa, and Wales. The current name was adopted in 2021 when the league expanded to include four South African teams previously from the SANZAR Super Rugby competition. The league is one of the three major professional leagues in Europe (along with the English Premiership Rugby, Premiership and the French Top 14), the most successful teams from which go forward to compete in the European Rugby Champions Cup.
