Killester Donnycarney Football Club is an Irish association football (soccer) club based in Killester, Dublin. Their senior men's team currently plays in the Senior Sunday Division of the Leinster Senior League. History The club was founded in 2018 by the merger of Killester United and Donnycarney F.C.. Killester Donnycarney were runners-up in the FAI Intermediate Cup in 2019–20, losing to St. Mochta's in the final. They have qualified for the FAI Cup on several occasions, reaching the last sixteen in 2021. Ground The club grounds are Hadden Park, located in Killester. Leinster Senior League (association Football)
The Leinster Senior League is an association football league organised by the Leinster Football Association. In 2015–16 the Leinster Senior League operated twenty divisions. It also organises various cup competitions. Its Senior Division is a third level division in the Republic of Ireland football league system. Leinster Senior League teams also compete in the Leinster Senior Cup, the FAI Cup, the FAI Intermediate Cup and the FAI Junior Cup. In recent seasons the winners of the Senior Division have also qualified to play in the League of Ireland Cup. The vast majority of its member clubs are based in the Greater Dublin Area. Killester () is a small residential largely affluent suburb of Dublin, Ireland on the Northside of the city in the Dublin 3 and Dublin 5 postal districts. It was the site of a church and convent or monastery centuries ago, and later a small village developed. In 1922, a settlement for ex-servicemen and their families was established, and the area grew with suburban housing later. The local parish church has for many years hosted a relic of St Brigid. Killester is also a civil parish in the ancient barony of Coolock. Location and access Killester is located between Clontarf, Donnycarney, Raheny and Artane, on the Northside of Dublin. Donnycarney () is a Northside suburb in the city of Dublin, Ireland, in the jurisdiction of Dublin City Council. It is mostly residential, around from the centre of Dublin. The FAI Intermediate Cup ( ga, Corn Comortais Peile na hÉireann), also known as the FAI Umbro Intermediate Cup and the Pat O'Brien Intermediate Challenge Cup, is a cup competition organized by the Football Association of Ireland for intermediate association football clubs from the Republic of Ireland. 2021 FAI Cup
The 2021 FAI Cup was the 101st edition of the Republic of Ireland's primary national cup competition. This edition features teams from the League of Ireland Premier Division and the First Division, as well as non-league teams. The competition is to begin with qualifying on the week ending 11 July 2021. The winners of the FAI Cup earns automatic qualification for the 2022–23 UEFA Europa Conference League.
