Killam Wheat Kings
The Killam Wheat Kings are a junior "B" ice hockey team based in Killam, Alberta, Canada. They are members of the North Eastern Alberta Junior B Hockey League (NEAJBHL). They play their home games at Killam Agriplex. History In 2012, the Killam Wheat Kings were selected to be the host of the Russ Barnes Trophy Championships. As host they were guaranteed a spot in the Provincial Championships and an opportunity to earn their way to the Keystone Cup to battle for the Western Canada Junior B Championships. Killam is a town in central Alberta, Canada. It is located in Flagstaff County, east of Camrose at the junction of Highway 13 and Veterans Memorial Highway, Highway 36. Bill Peters (ice Hockey)
William Robert Peters (born January 13, 1965) is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former college player. He has served as head coach of the Carolina Hurricanes and Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League (NHL), Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), as well as the Canada men's national ice hockey team . Early life and career Peters was born in Three Hills, Alberta, where he spent the first ten years of his life living on a cattle and grain farm. He then moved to Killam, where he began playing both ice hockey and baseball. At age 15, Peters broke his knee when he was run over on his bicycle by a car, an injury that hindered his intention to play professionally. Kyle Freadrich (born December 28, 1978) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who played for the Tampa Bay Lightning of the NHL. Shane Doan
Shane Albert Doan (born October 10, 1976) is a Canadian professional ice hockey executive and former player currently serving as chief hockey development officer for the Arizona Coyotes of the National Hockey League (NHL). Doan spent the entirety of his 21-season NHL career with the Coyotes franchise, beginning with the Winnipeg Jets in 1995 before playing in Arizona for two decades. He was the last remaining player active in the NHL from the original Winnipeg Jets franchise before he announced his retirement in the summer of 2017. Doan led the Phoenix Coyotes in scoring in every season between 2003 to 2011. In December 2015, Doan became the Coyotes franchise's all-time leading goal scorer. Red Deer Vipers
The Red Deer Vipers are a Junior "B" Ice Hockey team based in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. They are members of the North Division of the Heritage Junior B Hockey League (HJHL). They played their home games at Red Deer Arena until 2016 when it was torn down to be rebuilt. The Vipers played home games out of Red Deer's Collicutt Centre which only sat about 500 with standing room for a season & a half. The Whitecourt Wolverines are a junior "A" ice hockey team in North Division of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) based in Whitecourt, Alberta, Canada.
