'' Kill the Rhythm (Like a Homicide)'' is the sixth studio album by American rapper Just-Ice. It was released on November 21, 1995 via Sleeping Dawg/ In-A-Minute Records. Recording sessions took place at Unique Recording Studios and Quad Recording Studios in New York, and Mark V Studios in San Francisco. Production was handled by O.C. Rodriguez, Big Ed, Forty Duce, The Scratch God, KRS-One, Mark V and DJ Prince Ice. Joseph Williams Jr. (born June 22, 1965), better known by the stage name Just-Ice, is an American rapper from New York City. A former bouncer at punk clubs, Williams was the first of the New York rappers to embrace gangsta rap, and when he burst out of the Castle Hill neighborhood in the New York City borough of the Bronx as Just-Ice, he gained instant notoriety. Muscle-bound, tattooed, aggressive—he resembled Mike Tyson in more than just looks—and with a mouthful of gold teeth, he certainly stood out. KRS-One
Lawrence "Kris" Parker (born August 20, 1965), better known by his stage names KRS-One (; an abbreviation of "Knowledge Reigns Supreme Over Nearly Everyone") and Teacha, is an American rapper from New York City. He rose to prominence as part of the hip hop group Boogie Down Productions, which he formed with DJ Scott La Rock in the mid-1980s. KRS-One is known for his songs, "Sound of da Police", "Love's Gonna Get'cha (Material Love)", and "My Philosophy". Unique Recording Studios
Unique Recording Studios was a five-room recording studio operating near Times Square in New York City from 1978 until 2004. Founders and co-owners Bobby Nathan and Joanne Georgio-Nathan installed the first Otari 24-track tape deck in New York. The studio was known for its extensive collection of synthesizers, which attracted Steve Winwood, who jammed for many hours in the process of creating his multi-Grammy winning album ''Back in the High Life'' (1986) at Unique. Founders Bobby Nathan was born in New York, and learned to play guitar at age 11. In 1965 in his late teens, he played clubs on the Jersey Shore with his band the Pipers. In-A-Minute Records was a record company founded in 1991 by Jason Blaine. It featured many artists from the underground bay area rap scene including RBL Posse, Andre Nickatina, I.M.P, Pooh-Man, Totally Insane. The label was shut down in 2000. Origins and early formation The label was founded in 1991 in Oakland, California, by Jason Blaine, who was disappointed by the fact that many rappers in the Bay Area were unsigned at the time. He offered RBL Posse $10,000 ahead of time to sign with his label, which they quickly accepted due to the fact that they were still selling tapes on the street.
