A community ( cy, cymuned) is a division of land in Wales that forms the lowest tier of local government in Wales. Welsh communities are analogous to civil parishes in England. Lampeter Velfrey
Lampeter Velfrey (Welsh: ''Llanbedr Felfre'') is a community and parish in the county of Pembrokeshire, Wales, which lies 68.0 miles (109.4 km) from Cardiff and 196.0 miles (315.4 km) from London. In 2011 the population of the parish was 1,205, with 20.2 per cent of them able to speak Welsh. Besides Lampeter Velfrey village, other settlements in the community include Princes Gate, Ludchurch, Llan-mill, Melinau and Tavernspite. 2022 Pembrokeshire County Council Election
An Election to Pembrokeshire County Council took place on 5 May 2022 to elect 60 members to Pembrokeshire County Council, as part of wider local elections across Wales and the UK. The election was preceded by the 2017 election. It will be followed by the 2027 election. Boundary changes A number of boundary changes took place following a review by the Local Government Boundary Commission for Wales. 29 of the existing 60 wards remained unchanged although there were some changes to ward names. Pembrokeshire County Council ( cy, Cyngor Sir Penfro) is the governing body for Pembrokeshire, one of the Principal Areas of Wales. Political control The first election to the council was held in 1995, initially operating as a shadow authority before coming into its powers on 1 April 1996. Since 1996 the majority of the seats on the council have always been held by independent councillors, with different groupings forming among the independents at different times. Templeton (Welsh: ''Tredeml'') is a village and community in Pembrokeshire, Wales. The population of the community was 943 in 2011. The built-up area had a population of 627. History Early history The placename Templeton may derive from “The Templar's Farm” or (“Tun”). It is possible that the Knights Templar had some form of religious house here before their possessions were taken over by the Knights Hospitallers, which had a commandery at nearby Slebech, which, by 1282 passed to the Mortimers, Lords of Narberth. In 1282 Templeton was referred to as "Villa temparil" which means the “Vil” or settlement of the Templars and "Villa Templarorium Campestris" – the vil of the Templars in the fields. Saundersfoot ( cy, Llanusyllt; Old Welsh: ''Llanussyllt'') is a large village and community (and former electoral ward) in Pembrokeshire, Wales. It is near Tenby, both being holiday destinations. Saundersfoot lies in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. The village population was 3,361 in 2011. while the community had a population of 2,628. Jeffreyston (also known as Jeffreston) is a village, parish and community in Pembrokeshire. Jeffreyston lies on the B4586 road about northwest of the main A477 St Clears to Pembroke road; the nearest town is Tenby about to the southeast. Community As well as Jeffreyston itself, the predominantly rural and agricultural community includes the settlements of Cresselly, Cresswell Quay, Loveston and Yerbeston. In 2011 the community's population was 574. Cresselly The name Cresselly probably originated as ''Croes Elli''. Kilgetty ( cy, Cilgeti; ) is a village immediately north of Saundersfoot in Pembrokeshire, Wales, at the junction of the A477 between St. Clears and Pembroke Dock and the A478 between Tenby and Cardigan. Community The villages of Kilgetty, Reynalton and Begelly make up the community of Kilgetty/Begelly. In 2011 it had a population of 1,207. East Williamston ( cy, Tregwilym Ddwyrain) is a village and community in Pembrokeshire, Wales. The community includes the villages of Pentlepoir, Cold Inn and Broadmoor, Wooden and Moreton. The community had a population of 1,787 in 2001, increasing to 1,844 at the 2011 Census. Amroth
Amroth is both a village, a parish and a community northeast of Tenby, Pembrokeshire, Wales. Located on Carmarthen Bay, Amroth is noted for its long sandy beach which stretches the length of the village. It regularly earns a Blue Flag award. and is the south-to-north start of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. Amroth is within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The name is Welsh, and probably means "on (the brook called) Rhath".
