Kikorongo–Ishaka Road is a road in the Western Region of Uganda, connecting the towns of Kikorongo in Kasese District with Ishaka in Bushenyi District. Location This road starts at Kikorongo, on the Fort Portal–Kasese–Mpondwe Road. It proceeds southward across the Kazinga Channel at Katunguru, continuing through Rubirizi, to end at Ishaka, a total distance of about . Kikorongo, also Kikorongo Junctiom, is a settlement in Kasese District, in the Western Region of Uganda. Location The town is located on the Fort Portal–Kasese–Mpondwe Road, about south of Kasese. Kazinga Channel
The Kazinga Channel in Uganda is a wide, long natural channel that links Lake Edward and Lake George (Uganda), Lake George, and a dominant feature of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The channel attracts a varied range of animals and birds, with one of the world's largest concentration of Hippopotamus, hippos and numerous Nile crocodiles. Lake George is a small lake with an average depth of only and which is fed by streams from the Rwenzori mountains. Its outflow is through the Kazinga Channel which drains into Lake Edward, water levels fluctuating very little. In 2005, large numbers of hippos were killed in the channel as a result of an anthrax outbreak, which occurs when animals eat remnants of vegetation in the driest months, absorbing bacterial spores that can live for decades in dry soil. Katunguru, Uganda
Katunguru, is a settlement in Rubirizi District, Ankole sub-region, in the Western Region of Uganda. Bushenyi District
Bushenyi District is a district in Western Uganda. Like many other Ugandan districts, it is named after its chief town, Bushenyi, where the district headquarters are located.
