Kieran O'Connor
Kieran O'Connor (31 May 197915 July 2020) was an Irish Gaelic footballer. At club level he played with Aghada and was an All-Ireland Championship-winner as a member of the extended panel with the Cork senior football team in 2010. After beginning his career at club level with Aghada, O'Connor joined the Cork under-21 team as a 19-year-old in 1999. He was promoted to the Cork senior team under Billy Morgan in 2004. From his debut, O'Connor became a regular in defence and made a total of 25 championship appearances in a career that ended with him leaving the panel in March 2011. During that time he was a panellist when Cork won the All-Ireland Championship in 2010. O'Connor also secured three Munster Championship medals on the field of play and back-to-back National Football League medals in two separate divisions. 2007 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship
The 2007 Bank of Ireland All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, was a Gaelic football competition in Ireland, and was the most significant and prestigious competition in the sport held that year. It began on 13 May 2007, with the final game took place for Sunday, 16 September. Kerry were the defending champions, as well as the most successful team in the competition. Donegal entered the Championship as the unbeaten National League champions, as well as having been runners-up to Tyrone in the 2007 Dr. McKenna Cup. The draw for the provincial championships took place on 4 November 2006. Kerry retained their championship, the first team to do so since Cork won back-to-back titles in 1989 and 1990. The final was the first occasion when two teams from Munster, Kerry and Cork, competed, although not the first with two teams from the same Province. 2006 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship
The 2006 Bank of Ireland All-Ireland Senior Football Championship began on Sunday 7 May 2006. The 2006 championship used the same "Qualifier" system that was used in 2005. Tyrone were the defending champions, but were knocked out relatively early in the competition by Laois. Kerry won their 34th Sam Maguire beating Mayo in a repeat of the 2004 final. The All-Ireland Senior Football Championship 2005, known for sponsorship reasons as the 2005 Bank of Ireland All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the premier Gaelic football competition in 2005. It consisted of 33 teams and began on Saturday 7 May 2005. Few surprises came during the championship with the dominance of the Ulster teams evident once again. Gaelic football's "Big Three" of this era - Armagh GAA, Armagh, Kerry GAA, Kerry, Tyrone GAA, Tyrone - all progressed to the semi-finals. Owen Sexton
Owen Sexton (born 1975) is an Irish retired Gaelic footballer who played as a centre-back for the Cork senior team. Born in Kilbrittain, County Cork, Sexton first played competitive Gaelic football whilst at school at Hamilton High School, Bandon. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Cork minor team, winning a Minor football All-Ireland medal in 1993, before later lining out with the under-21 side. He made his senior debut in the 1997 championship. Sexton went on to play a key role for the team for over a decade, winning three Munster medals and one National Football League medal. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on two occasions. He won a Senior football county medal with Carbery in 2004 with a 'Man of the Match' performance from Full Back. Munster Under-21 Football Championship
The Munster GAA Football Under-20 Championship, known simply as the Munster Under-20 Championship, is an annual inter-county Gaelic football competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county football competition for male players between the ages of 17 and 20 in the province of Munster. The championship was contested as the Munster Under-21 Championship between 1962 and 2016 before changing to an under-20 age category from 2018. It is sponsored by EirGrid. The final, currently held in March, serves as the culmination of a series of games played during a three-week period, and the results determine which team receives the Corn na Cásca. Ballinhassig GAA
Ballinhassig is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the village of Ballinhassig in County Cork, Republic of Ireland. The club was founded in 1886, and now plays Hurling at Premier Intermediate level, having won the Cork Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship in 2005, and the Cork Junior Hurling Championship in 2002. Stemming from these County Championship wins, Ballinhassig competed in Munster and All-Ireland Club Championships, and have won the following Club Championship Finals: Junior Munster Club Final, Junior All-Ireland Junior Club Hurling Championship Final, Intermediate Munster Club Final; but lost out to Dicksboro, of Kilkenny town, in the All-Ireland Intermediate Club Hurling Championship Final, played in Croke Park.
