George Willis "Kiddo" Davis (February 12, 1902 – March 4, 1983) was a Major League Baseball outfielder. He played all or part of eight seasons in the majors, and -. A center fielder, abbreviated CF, is the outfielder in baseball who plays defense in center field – the baseball and softball fielding position between left field and right field. In the numbering system used to record defensive plays, the center fielder is assigned the number 8. In baseball statistics, fielding percentage, also known as fielding average, is a measure that reflects the percentage of times a defensive player properly handles a batted or thrown ball.
