Kicked In The Head (film)
''Kicked in the Head'' is a 1997 American comedy film directed by Matthew Harrison and written by Kevin Corrigan and Matthew Harrison. The film stars Kevin Corrigan, Linda Fiorentino, Michael Rapaport, Lili Taylor, James Woods and Burt Young. The film was released on September 26, 1997, by October Films. Plot Redmond is a young guy who can't find what to do with his life. When his uncle Sam gives him the bag to deliver to some uptown connection he fails to do so and it gets them in trouble with Jack, low-key criminal. After that tough guy Stretch wants Redmond to take part in his illegal beer business, but before Redmond gets involved, the business ends in a bad way. Redmond is also having affair with flight attendant Megan. Matthew Harrison (director)
Matthew Harrison (born in New York City) is an American television and film director, producer and writer. He first came to prominence when his feature film ''Rhythm Thief'' was awarded Special Jury Recognition for Directing at the Sundance Film Festival. His first studio feature ''Kicked in the Head'' was executive produced by Martin Scorsese and released by Universal Studios. He directed episodes 1X11 and 1X12 of HBO's ''Sex and the City''. Early films Harrison attended PS 41 in downtown Manhattan where he began making 8mm films at age nine. During the 60's, 70's and 80's, Harrison made 8mm and S8mm short films. His first public screening of a film was a 1971 screening of his short S8mm film ''Mission: Preposterous'' with an accompanying audio track played using a Wollensak ΒΌ" tape recorder at the Ocean Bay Park Volunteer Fire Department. October Films was a major U.S. independent film production company and distributor founded in 1991 by Bingham Ray and Jeff Lipsky as a means of distributing the 1990 film '' Life Is Sweet''. American Comedy Films
American comedy films are comedy films produced in the United States. The genre is one of the oldest in American cinema; some of the first silent movies were comedies, as slapstick comedy often relies on visual depictions, without requiring sound. A comedy film is a category of film which emphasizes humor. These films are designed to make the audience laugh through amusement. Films in this style traditionally have a happy ending (black comedy being an exception). Comedy is one of the oldest genres in film and it is derived from the classical comedy in theatre. Some of the earliest silent films were comedies, as slapstick comedy often relies on visual depictions, without requiring sound. When sound films became more prevalent during the 1930s, comedy films took another swing, as laughter could result from burlesque situations but also dialogue. Stephen Endelman is a British born classical composer and conductor.
