''Kick'' is the sixth studio album by Australian rock band INXS, released on 12 October 1987 through WEA in Australia, Mercury Records in Europe, and Atlantic Records in the United States and Canada. The album was produced by British producer Chris Thomas, recorded by David Nicholas in Sydney, Australia, and in Paris, France, and mixed by Bob Clearmountain at Air Studios in London. The band's most successful studio album, ''Kick'' has been certified six times platinum by the RIAA and peaked at number three on the ''Billboard'' 200. INXS
INXS (a word play, phonetic play on "in excess") were an Australian Rock music, rock band, formed as The Farriss Brothers in 1977 in Sydney, New South Wales. The band's founding members were bassist Garry Gary Beers, main composer and keyboardist Andrew Farriss, drummer Jon Farriss, guitarist Tim Farriss, lead singer and main lyricist Michael Hutchence, and guitarist and saxophonist Kirk Pengilly. For 20 years, INXS was fronted by Hutchence, whose magnetic stage presence made him the focal point of the band. Initially known for their New wave music, new wave/pop music, pop style, the band later developed a harder Pub rock (Australia), pub rock style that included funk and dance music, dance elements. "Mystify" is a song by Australian rock band INXS and is the fifth (and last) single from their 1987 album ''Kick''. The song was written by Andrew Farriss and Michael Hutchence as part of the first sessions for ''Kick''. The song was first previewed to Australian audiences on the Australian Made tour in January 1987. B-sides The B-sides include remixes and LP versions of previous INXS songs, that following the trend of previous ''Kick'' releases, showcase the band's previous work. The German edition of the CD single included the 12" vinyl versions of "Shine Like It Does" and "Never Tear Us Apart" from the 1988 US Tour. ''Shabooh Shoobah'' is the third studio album by Australian rock band INXS. It was released on 13 October 1982. It peaked at No. 5 on the ARIA Albums Chart and remained on the chart for 94 weeks. It was the band's first album to be released worldwide and appeared on the United States ''Billboard'' 200 and on the Hot Pop Albums Chart. The album spawned four singles, " The One Thing", "Don't Change", "To Look at You" and "Black and White". It was produced by Mark Opitz for WEA Australia with most tracks written by band members Andrew Farriss and Michael Hutchence. Sydney Opera House
The Sydney Opera House is a multi-venue performing arts centre in Sydney. Kirk Pengilly
Kirk Pengilly ( ; born 4 July 1958) is an Australian musician and member of the Australian rock group INXS. Kirk plays saxophone, guitar and also performs as a backing vocalist. Early career Pengilly moved to Sydney in 1966, and became best friends with fellow band member Tim Farriss with whom he attended Forest High School. Their first band ''Guinness'', formed in 1971, was a high school band in which Pengilly was the principal songwriter and lead singer. The band included American David Stewart on pedal-steel guitar and Malcolm Walker on drums, and was named after bass player Steve Spencer's dog. Guinness played a style of music inspired by bands like Yes, Pink Floyd, Emerson Lake and Palmer and Gentle Giant on one hand, and country rockers like Bruce Springsteen and Jimmy Buffett on the other. "What You Need" is a song recorded by the Australian band INXS. It is the leadoff track from their 1985 album, '' Listen Like Thieves''. "What You Need" was the lead single off the album in Australia and New Zealand, while it was in USA and Europe the second single after "This Time" and was the band's first American Top Ten hit, peaking at #5 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 singles chart. After the album ''Listen Like Thieves'' was recorded and ready to be given to the record label for inspection, producer Chris Thomas was worried that the album didn't have a "hit".
