Khubsoorat
''Khubsoorat'' (transl. Beautiful) is a 1980 Indian Hindi, Hindi-language comedy-drama film, directed and produced by Hrishikesh Mukherjee, co-produced by N. C. Sippy with dialogues written by Gulzar. The movie stars Ashok Kumar, Rekha, Rakesh Roshan, Dina Pathak in lead roles. The movie received critical acclaim and was a box-office success. The movie was remade in Telugu language, Telugu as Swargam in 1981 and Tamil language, Tamil as Lakshmi Vandhachu and in Malayalam as Vannu Kandu Keezhadakki. The Khoobsurat (2014 film), 2014 film of the same name was loosely based on it and was Disney's first live-action Bollywood movie. Hrishikesh Mukherjee (30 September 1922 – 27 August 2006) was an Indian film director, editor and writer. He is regarded as one of the greatest filmmakers of Indian cinema. Popularly known as ''Hrishi-da'', he directed 42 films during his career spanning over four decades, and is named the pioneer of the 'middle cinema' of India. Dina Pathak (née Gandhi; 4 March 1922 – 11 October 2002) was an Indian actress and director of Gujarati theatre and also a film actor. She was an activist and President of the National Federation of Indian Women (NFIW). Rakesh Roshan (born 6 September 1949) is an Indian film producer, director, screenwriter, and actor who works in Hindi films. He is the son of Indian music director Roshan and Indian Bengali singer Ira Roshan. He had appeared in 84 films throughout the 1970s and 1980s until 1989.
