Khomam County ( fa, شهرستان خمام) is in Gilan province, Iran. The capital of the county is the city of Khomam. At the 2006 census, the county's population (as Khomam District of Rasht County Rasht County ( fa, کلانشهر رشت) is located in Gilan province, Iran. Khomam
Khomam ( glk, خۊمام, Khumam), is a city of Gilan province and the center of Khomam county. The city of Khomam is located on the road connecting the two major and tourist cities of Gilan province, namely Rasht and Anzali. According to the police, Rasht to Khomam has been introduced as the second busiest road in the province in 2015. Khomam city is the center of Khomam County, which is upgraded from a District to a County and separated from Rasht County in 2021. Khomam is the nearest city to the center of Gilan province (Rasht), the distance from Khomam to Rasht is about 7 km and to Anzali is 15 km. Iran Standard Time (IRST) or Iran Time (IT) is the time zone used in Iran. Iran uses a UTC offset UTC+03:30. IRST is defined by the 52.5 degrees east meridian, the same meridian which defines the Iranian calendar and is the official meridian of Iran. Between 2005 and 2008, by decree of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Iran did not observe daylight saving time (DST) (called ''Iran Daylight Time'' or ''IRDT''). It was reintroduced from 21 March 2008. On 21 September 2022, Iran abolished DST and now observes standard time year-round. Daylight Saving Time transitions The dates of DST transitions in Iran were based on the Solar Hijri calendar, the official calendar of Iran, which is in turn based on the March equinox (Nowruz) as determined by astronomical calculation at the meridian for Iran Standard Time (52.5°E or GMT+3.5h).
