Khin Myo Chit
Khin Myo Chit ( my, ခင်မျိုးချစ်, ; 1 May 1915 – 2 January 1999) was a Burmese author and journalist, whose career spanned over four decades. She began her career writing short stories in Burmese for ''Dagon Magazine'' in 1934. She worked on the editorial staff of ''The Burma Journal'' during anti-colonial movements. After the war, Khin Myo Chit wrote for ''The Oway'', a Burmese newspaper. National activism Her birth name was Khin Mya. She started her work in Burmese culture, literature and politics in the 1300 Movement. She acted as deputy head of the Women's Front of the 1300 Movement which demanded self-rule at the Shwedagon Pagoda in Rangoon (now Yangon) on 29 January 1939. Anawrahta Minsaw ( my, အနော်ရထာ မင်းစော, ; 11 May 1014 – 11 April 1077) was the founder of the Pagan Empire. Dr Khin Maung Win ( my, ခင်မောင်ဝင်း; also known as Khin Maung Win (Math), 23 October 1940 – 3 August 2021) was a Burmese writer and retired math professor at the Yangon University. He is notable for topics ranging from math teachings and literature and has written many mathematical books in his career. His math books were collected for all school libraries as part of a development project of Myanmar Education. Early life and education Khin Maung Win was born on 23 October 1940, in Rangoon, Burma. He was the only son of prominent author Khin Myo Chit and her husband Khin Maung Lat, an author. He graduated with math General Honors BA (Gen. Hons.) in 1956 and MA (Math) in 1966 from Yangon University, and received PhD from the University of Caen Normandy in 1970. Personal life Khin married Tatkatho Shwe Yi Win, an author, in 1967. Sagaing
Sagaing (, ) is the former capital of the Sagaing Region of Myanmar. It is located in the Irrawaddy River, to the south-west of Mandalay on the opposite bank of the river. Sagaing with numerous Buddhist monasteries is an important religious and monastic centre. The pagodas and monasteries crowd the numerous hills along the ridge running parallel to the river. The central pagoda, Soon U Ponya Shin Pagoda, is connected by a set of covered staircases that run up the hill.
