Khan Na Yao
Khan Na Yao ( th, คันนายาว, ) is one of the 50 districts (''khet'') of Bangkok, Thailand. It is bounded by other Bangkok districts (from north clockwise): Bang Khen, Khlong Sam Wa, Min Buri, Saphan Sung, and Bueng Kum. History Khan Na Yao was separated from Bueng Kum on 14 October 1997 announcement, effective 21 November 1997, together with Saphan Sung. Its name means "''long paddy-field ridge''", describing the geography of the district; Khan Na Yao was an agricultural district. Administration The district is divided into two sub-districts (''khwaeng''). Saphan Sung
Saphan Sung ( th, สะพานสูง, ) is one of the 50 districts (''khet'') of Bangkok, Thailand. Located on the eastern part of the capital, it is bounded by other Bangkok districts (from north clockwise): Khan Na Yao, Min Buri, Lat Krabang, Prawet, Suan Luang, Bang Kapi, and Bueng Kum. Most part of Saphan Sung district are low density residential area. Thai Rak Thai
The Thai Rak Thai Party (TRT; th, พรรคไทยรักไทย, , ; "Thais Love Thais Party") was a Thai political party founded in 1998. From 2001 to 2006, it was the ruling party under its founder, Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. During its brief existence, Thai Rak Thai won the three general elections it contested. Eight months after a military coup forced Thaksin to remain in exile, the party was dissolved on 30 May 2007 by the Constitutional Tribunal for violation of electoral laws, with 111 former party members banned from participating in politics for five years. 2006 Thailand Local Elections
Elections for local councils in Bangkok were held in 2006. The first batch of elections took place on 30 April 2006 for all seats on the district councils of 14 districts in the north and east of the city. In the second phase of voting held on 23 July 2006, the District Council seats for the remaining 36 districts, along with all 57 seats on the Bangkok Metropolitan Council, were up for election. Local elections follow a four-year cycle, and the 2006 elections are a follow-on from the 2002 elections. Fashion Island (Thailand)
Fashion Island is a shopping mall located on Ramintra Road, in Khan Na Yao District outskirt of Bangkok, Thailand. Fashion Island is currently ranked as the Twenty-sixth largest mall in the World along with ''Dubai Mall'' and ''West Edmonton Mall'' (once biggest mall in the world until 2004). The shopping mall featured an amusement park with a monorail circling around the mall. It was in length with four stations. The amusement park and monorail were both shut down after an accident. On 26 June 2002, a short circuit caused one train to catch fire. The train had no circuit breaker, and the passenger compartment was not protected by fireproof insulation. Two girls, six and eight years old, died in the fire, and two more children were injured from jumping out of the train. Siam Amazing Park ( th, สยามอะเมซิ่งพาร์ค), more commonly known as Siam Park City or Suansiam (, , ), is an amusement and water park located in the Khan Na Yao district of Bangkok, Thailand. It was founded in November 1980 and remains the oldest amusement and water park complex in Southeast Asia. Located near Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport, it contains attractions such as Southeast Asia's first suspended looping coaster with five inversions, a large wave pool, and 7-storey slides. Park history Siam Park City is an amusement park in Khan Na Yao District of Bangkok. The park is spread over 100 acres, divided into a water park and an amusement park. Khwaeng
A ''khwaeng'' (, ) is an administrative subdivision used in the fifty districts of Bangkok and a few other city municipalities in Thailand. Currently, there are 180 ''khwaeng'' in Bangkok. A ''khwaeng'' is roughly equivalent to a ''tambon'' in other provinces of Thailand, smaller than an ''amphoe'' (district). Bueng Kum
Bueng Kum ( th, บึงกุ่ม, ) is one of the 50 districts (''Khet'') of Bangkok, Thailand. From north clockwise, it is bounded by Bang Khen, Khan Na Yao, Saphan Sung, Bang Kapi, and Lat Phrao. History Bueng Kum was separated from Bang Kapi on 4 September 1989. It consisted of three sub-districts: Khlong Kum, Khan Na Yao, and Saphan Sung. On 14 October 1997, Khan Na Yao and Saphan Sung were elevated to districts, leaving Bueng Kum with a sole sub-district, Khlong Kum. Bueng Kum was named so because of a lake ("bueng" means 'lake') used as water reservoir for flood prevention. There are also plants called "kum" ('' Crataeva'' sp.) around the lake. Min Buri
Min Buri ( th, มีนบุรี, ) is one of the 50 districts (''khet'') of Bangkok, Thailand. It is bounded by other Bangkok districts (from north clockwise): Khlong Sam Wa, Nong Chok, Lat Krabang, Saphan Sung, and Khan Na Yao. Min Buri is the fifth largest district in Bangkok. History The district was once a province established in 1901 during the reign of King Chulalongkorn.
