Khadda Minguel
Minguel Fernandes (29 September 1889 – ), known professionally as Khadda Minguel (), was an Indian playwright, composer, and singer known for his work in '' khell'' productions. Career Fernandes, also known as Kudd'ddo Minguel (Blind Mingel), was a figure in the realm of '' khells'', a form of street theater, and held the title of "Khellancho Raza" (King of Khells). Known as a '' mestri'', Fernandes showcased prowess as a playwright, composer, and singer. His compositions, encompassing both lyrics and melodies, were hailed for their artistic merit. Chinchinim
Chinchinim (''Chinchone'') is a census town in Goa state, India. It is located in the Salcete Tehsil, ''taluka'' of South Goa district. Prior to achieving the current status of a small township, it was considered one of the biggest villages of southern Goa. Geography Chinchinim is located at . It has an elevation of . Quepem
Quepem is a town with a municipal council in South Goa district in the Indian state of Goa. The town is the administrative headquarters of the Quepem taluka (sub-district). History The town was established by a Portuguese noble man Deão Jose Paulo de Almeida, the dean (''Deão'') of the church in AD 1787 after he moved there just five years after the conquest of Quepem sub-district by the Portuguese. Santiago Pereira
Santiago Pereira (22 May 1912 – 2 February 1960) was a Goan playwright, stage director, lyricist, drama teacher, and musician known for his work in '' khell'' (street play) productions. Early life Santiago Pereira was born on 22 May 1912 in the village of Cotombi, Goa which was part of the Portuguese colonial territory of Portuguese India at the time during Portuguese Empire (now in India). Pereira's father, Vitorino Pereira, worked as a toddy tapper, while his mother was Fortuliana Nogueira. Pereira received his early education at the Paroda government school, where he completed the ''primeiro grau'' ( first grade) curriculum taught in the Portuguese language. Pereira later transferred to the Chandor parochial school, where he received training in Western classical music through participation in the church choir. Benaulim
Benaulim is a village in the state of Goa, India. Located in Salcete taluka of South Goa district, it neighbours Colva village to the north, Margao in the northeast and Varca village to the south.
