Khabezsky District (russian: Хабе́зский райо́н; abq, Хӏабаз район; kbd, Хьэбэз къедзыгъуэ; krc, Хабез район) is an administrativeLaw #84-RZ and a municipalLaw #48-RZ district (raion), one of the ten in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, Russia. It is located in the north of the republic. The area of the district is . Its administrative center is the rural locality (an ''aul'') of Khabez. As of the 2010 Census, the total population of the district was 30,356, with the population of Khabez accounting for 20.6% of that number. The Abazin, Abazinians or Abaza (Abaza language, Abaza and Abkhaz language, Abkhaz: Абаза; Circassian language, Circassian: Абазэхэр; russian: Абазины; tr, Abazalar; ar, أباظة), are an ethnic group of the Caucasus, Northwest Caucasus, closely related to the Abkhaz people, Abkhaz and Circassians, Circassian people.
