Kevin Riepl
Kevin Riepl is an American composer for video games, films and television shows. He is best known for his work on the ''Unreal'' series of games, '' Gears of War'' and '' Aliens: Colonial Marines''. Biography Riepl was born in Cliffwood Beach, New Jersey. His interest in music started at the age of six, when he began to play piano and guitar under the instruction of his uncle. In the fourth grade he began studies on the trumpet and piano and that continued throughout his high school years in which he was a member of a variety of bands and orchestras. After high school, he began private independent studies in composition and orchestration at the Village East Conservatory of Music. Following the years at the conservatory and few scoring projects, he attended Mannes College of Music in New York City for further education in composition and orchestration. ''Unreal Tournament 2003'' is a first-person arena shooter video game developed by Epic Games and Digital Extremes, and published by Infogrames under the Atari brand name. The game is part of the ''Unreal'' franchise, and is a sequel to 1999's ''Unreal Tournament''. Like its predecessor, the game is designed mainly for multiplayer gaming. The game saw a record 1.2 million downloads when the demo was released. In addition, the Unreal engine has been widely licensed for games such as the ''Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six'' series, ''Splinter Cell'', and ''America's Army''. ''New Legends'' is a 2002 action video game developed by Infinite Machine, a studio founded by former employees of LucasArts, and published by THQ, for the Xbox gaming console (not compatible with Xbox 360). It would be the only game released by the developer, as ''New Legends'' was a commercial failure, and Infinite Machine was unable to secure funds to continue development of their next game, '' Sam & Max Plunge Through Space,'' also intended to be an Xbox exclusive.
