Kevin Proctor
Kevin Proctor (born 28 February 1989) is a New Zealand professional rugby league footballer who plays as a forward for Wakefield Trinity in the Super League, and the New Zealand Māori and New Zealand at international level. Proctor was a member of the Melbourne Storm squad in 2012, with whom he won the 2012 NRL Grand Final. Early life Proctor was born in Te Kuiti, New Zealand. He is of the Maori iwi (tribe) Ngā Puhi and also of Scottish descent. Proctor moved with his parents to Perth, Western Australia where he took up Australian rules football before they moved again to the Gold Coast, Australia as a 12-year-old where he attended Palm Beach Currumbin High School. He played his junior rugby league for the Currumbin Eagles and represented 2006 Australian Schoolboys and the 2007 Junior Kiwis before playing for the Melbourne Storm NYC team in 2008. Currumbin Eagles
Formed in 1976 as the Currumbin Football Club, the Currumbin Eagles compete in both the junior and senior Gold Coast Rugby League competitions. The club is based at the Merv Craig Sporting Complex in Currumbin Waters, Queensland and the club's Gold Coast Titans Ambassadors are Jahrome Hughes, Albert Kelly and William Zillman. Coast The Eagles were formed by brothers John and Mervin Hall, Beth Hall, Elaine Markwell and John and Kay Turner. John Hall served as the club’s inaugural President with Beth Hall as Secretary and Elaine Markwell as Treasurer. Using the Currumbin primary school ground as their home ground the club originally played in the Tweed Group 18 competition as there was no equivalent Gold Coast league. The Sydney Football Stadium, commercially known as Allianz Stadium and previously Aussie Stadium, was a football stadium in Moore Park, Sydney, Australia. The Indigenous Australian rugby league team (also known as the Indigenous All Stars or Indigenous Dreamtime team) is a rugby league football team that represents Aboriginal Australians and Torres Strait Islanders. 2008 Rugby League World Cup
The 2008 Rugby League World Cup was the thirteenth staging of the Rugby League World Cup since its inauguration in 1954, and the first since the 2000 tournament. The tournament was held in Australia from 26 October, culminating in the final between Australia and New Zealand on 22 November. The tournament was the fourth time that the World Cup was held in Australia, the first being in 1957. The tournament was won by New Zealand, who defeated Australia 34–20 in the final in one of the greatest upsets in the history of the sport. The St. George Illawarra Dragons is an Australian professional rugby league football club, representing both the Illawarra and St George regions of New South Wales. The club has competed in the National Rugby League since 1999 after a joint-venture was formed between the St. George Dragons (est. 1921) and the Illawarra Steelers (est. 1982). They officially formed as the game's first joint-venture club on 23 September 1998 and it remains the only inter-city team in the NRL. The 2008 NRL season was the 101st season of professional rugby league club competition in Australia, and the eleventh run by the National Rugby League. For the second year, National Rugby League teams, sixteen teams competed for the 2008 Telstra Premiership title.
