Kevin Mitchell (born 24 October 1961) is a former British Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. He competed in the Grand Prix world championships from 1987 to 1994. He achieved his highest ranking in 1992, riding for Harris Performance Products on a Yamaha 500cc bike, when he had 12 starts and finished 27th; his highest point total was 4, in 1988, on a 250cc Yamaha. 1992 Grand Prix Motorcycle Racing Season
The 1992 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season was the 44th F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Honda secured the constructor's title in all three categories. Season summaries 500cc summary Wayne Rainey won the 1992 World Championship for the third consecutive year on a Kenny Roberts Marlboro Yamaha, however he was largely outshone by a dominant Michael Doohan on his Rothmans Honda, and was only prevented from winning what would have been his first world title by injury. Doohan won the first four opening rounds, the first he nearly didn't qualify for, due to tricky conditions in Suzuka, but ended up winning as Rainey crashed out in the rain. Rainey followed Doohan home in second in the following three races, still not fully fit due to a broken femur he had suffered at the end of the 1991 season. The International North West 200 is a Northern Irish motorsport event established in 1929 for road racing motorcycles held on a street circuit known as ''the Triangle'' between the towns of Portstewart, Coleraine and Portrush in Causeway Coast and Glens. The course is one of the fastest in the world, with average speeds of and top speeds in excess of . The International North West 200 is one of around fifteen events run on public roads between April and October throughout Northern Ireland. The 1987 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season was the 39th F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Season summary Wayne Gardner became Australia's first-ever 500cc World Champion in a season that saw him score points in every Grand Prix.
