Kevin Lilly
Kevin Paschal Lilly (born May 14, 1963) is a former American football defensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL) for the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at University of Tulsa. Early years Lilly attended Memorial High School. He played defensive tackle and contributed to the team winning the 1980 state championship. He accepted a football scholarship from the University of Tulsa. Professional career San Diego Chargers Lilly was signed as an undrafted free agent by the San Diego Chargers after the 1986 NFL Draft on May 15. He was later waived and re-signed on August 11. He was released on August 25. San Francisco 49ers (first stint) On April 3, 1987, he was signed as a free agent by the San Francisco 49ers. Defensive Tackle
A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that will typically line up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the offensive guards, however he may also line up opposite one of the tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's individual defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These roles may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. If a defensive tackle reads a pass play, his primary responsibility is to pursue the quarterback, or simply knock the pass down at the line if it is within arm's reach. 1986 NFL Draft
The 1986 NFL draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. The draft was held April 29–30, 1986, at the Marriott Marquis in New York City, New York. The league also held a supplemental draft after the regular draft and before the regular season. The first overall selection of the draft, Bo Jackson, had told the Tampa Bay Buccaneers prior to the draft that he would refuse to sign with the team. Dean Edward Hamel (born July 7, 1961) is a former American football defensive tackle in the National Football League for the Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at the University of Tulsa and was drafted in the twelfth round of the 1985 NFL Draft. Early years Hamel attended Warren Mott High School. He began his college career at Coffeyville Community College as an offensive tackle in 1980, where he blocked for future Heisman Trophy winner Mike Rozier. Matthew George Millen (born March 12, 1958) is a former American football linebacker and executive. Millen played 12 years in the National Football League for the Oakland and Los Angeles Raiders, San Francisco 49ers, and Washington Redskins, playing on four Super Bowl-winning teams and winning a Super Bowl ring for each of the three franchises for which he played. After his playing career, Millen was president and chief executive officer of the Detroit Lions from 2001 until the 2008 NFL season.
