Kevin Doherty (musician)
Kevin Doherty is an Irish songwriter, musician and singer. He has played with various bands since the late 1980s and currently records and performs both as a solo artist and as a member of Four Men and a Dog. Early life Kevin Doherty was born in the late 1960s and grew up in the seaside town of Buncrana, County Donegal, near the most northerly point in Ireland. The background sounds of his childhood included the fine voices of his mother singing country songs and Irish ballads and his father singing opera and 'crooning' classics. By the age of about six years old, Kevin began learning to play the tin whistle with Dinny McLaughlin, a renowned teacher of traditional Irish music and dance. In the same class was Ciaran Tourish, now a member of the famous Irish traditional music group Altan. As a teenager, Doherty took up the game of golf since his father a golf professional. Kevin Doherty (judoka)
Kevin Doherty (born November 6, 1958 in Toronto, Ontario) is a retired judoka from Canada, who represented his native country at two consecutive Summer Olympics: 1984 and 1988. He won the silver medal at the 1979 Pan American Games in the lightweight division (– 71 kg). He also won the bronze medal at the 1981 World Championships in the Half Middleweight division (78 kg). In 1986, he won the bronze medal in the 86kg weight category at the judo demonstration sport event as part of the 1986 Commonwealth Games. Kevin Doherty (footballer)
Kevin Doherty (born 18 April 1980) is an Irish association football coach and former professional player who is currently the manager of League of Ireland Premier Division club Drogheda United. He was the manager of Shelbourne from December 2014 until June 2016. As a player Doherty was a powerful centre back, who was named FAI School's International Player of the Year in 1998. He was transferred from Home Farm Everton to Liverpool FC in the same year and played for the Premier League club's youth and reserve teams, as well as for the Republic of Ireland under-18 team. A broken femur suffered at the end of his first season with Liverpool was the first of several injuries which beset Doherty throughout his playing career. Doherty never played for Liverpool's first team and was released on the expiry of his contract in 2001, joining League of Ireland club Shelbourne. SleepResearch_Facility (sometimes abbreviated to SR_F or SRF) is a dark ambient artist from Glasgow, Scotland, specializing in sleep-conducive beatless ambient music which is both artistic as well as functional. Overview SleepResearch_Facility consists of the single band member Kevin Doherty. His music usually contains no rhythmic elements (one exception is "2.5" on ''Dead Weather Machine''), but instead relies on spacious, extended, richly-textured sounds.
