Kevin Coffey
Bartholomew Kevin Coffey (1933 – 6 December 1981) was an Irish Gaelic footballer. He played at club level with Clanna Gael in Dublin and at inter-county level with the Kerry senior football team. Career Coffey first came to Gaelic football prominence as a student at Goud Counsel College in New Ross when he was part of a Leinster Junior Colleges Championship title-winning team in the early fifties. His first appearance with the Kerry senior football team was in a London tournament game in 1956. Coffey made his competitive debut two years later and won the first of seven successive Munster Championship titles that year. He won his first All-Ireland Championship title at centre-back in 1959, before coming on as a substitute to claim a second winners' medal after a defeat of Roscommon in 1962. Clanna Gael Fontenoy is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based at Ringsend, Dublin, Ireland, serving Sandymount, Irishtown, Ringsend and its surrounding areas. History The club was founded in 1968 through the amalgamation of the Fontenoys (founded in 1892, named for the Battle of Fontenoy, where the Irish Brigade fought) and Clanna Gael (founded in 1929). Kilmacud Crokes GAA
Kilmacud Crokes ( ir, Cill Mochuda Na Crócaigh) is a large Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Stillorgan, Dublin, Republic of Ireland. Background Kilmacud GAA club was formed in 1959 following a historic public meeting in Saint Laurence's Hall, where Stillorgan shopping centre now stands. The first meeting of the club took place on 12 March 1959. Sixty people attended the meeting and donated a shilling each, meaning the club made IR£3.30 on the night. The club decided to use green-and-white jerseys, but they later decided to use the gold-and-purple colours, some say because of the local school Scoil Lorcain Naofa who also use gold and purple, others say it was because blue are the colours of the crocus. In 1963 the club purchased a -acre site behind the Ormonde Cinema as a permanent home pitch for themselves, Páirc de Burca, and in 1965 the adjoining Glenalbyn House was bought. All-Ireland Minor Football Championship
The Electric Ireland All-Ireland Minor Football Championship is the premier under-17 "knockout" competition in Gaelic football played in Ireland. 2017 was the final year of the minor under 18 football championship as it were replaced by an under 17 championship following a vote at the GAA congress on 26 February 2016. The series of games are organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association and are played during the summer months with the All-Ireland Minor Football Final being played on the third Sunday in September in Croke Park, Dublin as the curtain-raiser to the senior final. The 1964 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 78th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament. The championship began on 26 April 1964 and ended on 27 September 1964. Dublin entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were defeated by Meath in the Leinster final. It was Galway's second consecutive final, having lost to Dublin in the previous year's decider. The Tribesmen won their 5th All-Ireland title, beating Kerry by 5 points in the final, 0-15 to 0-10. The 1963 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 77th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament. The championship began on 5 May 1963 and ended on 22 September 1963. As of 2018, it remains the last All Ireland Senior Football Championship season to be completed without any draws. Kilkenny dropped from the championship until 1975. Kerry entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were defeated by Galway in the All-Ireland semi-final. On 22 September 1963, Dublin won the championship following a 1-9 to 0-10 defeat of Galway in the All-Ireland final. The 1958 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was won by Dublin, who beat Derry in the final. The championship, the premier competition in Gaelic football, is a series of games organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association and played during the summer and early autumn. Dundalk
Dundalk ( ; ga, Dún Dealgan ), meaning "the fort of Dealgan", is the county town (the administrative centre) of County Louth, Ireland. The town is on the Castletown River, which flows into Dundalk Bay on the east coast of Ireland. It is halfway between Dublin and Belfast, close to the border with Northern Ireland.
