Kevin Closs
Kevin Closs (born 1963) is a Canadian singer-songwriter, and author ("OMAGEE") Closs was raised on Manitoulin Island, and currently lives in the Onaping Falls neighbourhood of Greater Sudbury, Sudbury. An independent recording artist since 1989, he works both as a solo performer and with his rock band The Nobs. Closs is best known for his song "Erica", a Canadian Top 40 hit in 1994 as well as his guitar arrangement of "O Canada" played as the daystarter on CBC Northern Ontario Radio. He has also toured as a supporting musician in Charlie Major's band. He won Northern Lights Festival Boréal's Jackie Washington Award in 2002 and the Mayor's Celebration of the Arts Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Arts in 2016. Closs teaches songwriting workshops in schools across Northern Ontario through "Learning Through the Arts" and through invitations from Arts organizations. Assiginack () is a township in the Canadian province of Ontario, located on Manitoulin Island. An Ontario Historical Plaque was built on the grounds of the Assiginack Museum by the province to commemorate the Manitoulin Treaties' role in Ontario's heritage. Charlie Major
Charles Bernard Major (born December 31, 1954) is a Canadian country music artist. He has recorded seven studio albums and released more than twenty singles. In 2019 he was inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame. Musical career Born in Aylmer, Quebec, Charlie Major knew he wanted to be a musician since he was 19 years old. Onaping Falls
Onaping Falls (1996 census population 5,277) was a town in the Canadian province of Ontario, which existed from 1973 to 2000. It was created as part of the Regional Municipality of Sudbury, and took its name from the waterfalls (High Falls) on the Onaping River. On January 1, 2001, the town and the Regional Municipality were dissolved and amalgamated into the city of Greater Sudbury.
