Kevin Canty (hurler)
Kevin Canty (born 1986) is an Irish hurler and footballer who currently plays in midfield for the Valley rovers senior football team and centre forward for the Premier intermediate hurling team. Canty made his debut for the Cork county team in the 2007 championship. He remained on the panel for just two seasons. He subsequently joined the London county team during the 2011 Nicky Rackard Cup, and secured a Nicky Rackard Cup medal that same year. Innishannon
Innishannon or Inishannon () is a large village on the main Cork (city), Cork–Bandon, County Cork, Bandon road (N71 road (Ireland), N71) in County Cork, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. Situated on the River Bandon, the village has grown due to its proximity to Cork city, and is now a dormitory town for city workers. History Inishannon village is located at and developed around an important crossing-point on the River Bandon. Formerly controlled by the de Barry family, the area was used as a ferry point on the river from at least the early medieval period. Inishannon received a market and fair grant in 1256, and was given a royal charter in 1412. The 2011 Nicky Rackard Cup is the seventh season of the Nicky Rackard Cup since its establishment in 2005. A total of six teams will contest the Nicky Rackard Cup, including five sides from the 2010 Nicky Rackard Cup and one promoted team from the 2010 Lory Meagher Cup. Nicky Rackard Cup
The Nicky Rackard Cup (; often referred to as the Rackard Cup) is the fourth tier of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship. Each year, the champion team in the Nicky Rackard Cup is promoted to the Christy Ring Cup, and the lowest finishing team is relegated to the Lory Meagher Cup. The Nicky Rackard Cup, which was introduced for the 2005 season, is a recent initiative in providing a meaningful championship for third tier teams deemed "too weak" for any higher grades. The winners of the championship receive the Nicky Rackard Cup, named after former Wexford hurler Nicky Rackard regarded as one of the greatest hurlers of all time. The 2007 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 121st staging of the All-Ireland hurling championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1887. The championship began on 22 May 2007 and ended on 2 September 2007. Kilkenny were the defending champions, and successfully retained their All-Ireland crown following a 2–19 to 1–15 defeat of Limerick. This put them on level terms with Cork on 30 titles.
