Kevin Broadus
Kevin Levoin Broadus (born January 30, 1964) is an American college basketball coach and currently the head coach at Morgan State. He is the former head coach at Binghamton University, where he resigned after an NCAA Investigation. Playing career Broadus began playing collegiately at Grambling State University, but transferred after his first season to Bowie State University. He played for Bowie State from 1983 to 1986, earning conference all-rookie honors in the 1984 season, and leading his team in scoring as a captain during his senior year. Broadus graduated from Bowie State in 1990 with a degree in business administration. Coaching career After a playing career at Bowie State, Broadus stayed on with his alma mater as an assistant coach until 1993, when he joined the University of District of Columbia coaching staff. The tradition in the Major League Baseball mascot began with Mr. Met, introduced for the New York Mets when Shea Stadium opened in 1964. Although some mascots came and went over time, the popularity of mascots increased when The San Diego Chicken started independently making appearances at San Diego Padres games in 1977. Philadelphia Phillies management felt they needed a mascot similar to the Chicken, so they debuted the Phillie Phanatic in 1978. Nancy Zimpher
Nancy L. Zimpher (born October 29, 1946) is an American educator, state university leader, and former Chancellor of the State University of New York (SUNY). Prior to her service at SUNY, Zimpher was a dean and professor of education at Ohio State University (where she had earned her bachelors, master's and doctoral degrees); then Chancellor of the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee between 1998 and 2003; and President of the University of Cincinnati from 2003 through May 2009. Zimpher was the first woman to serve as Chancellor of SUNY, UWM's first woman chancellor, and UC's first female president. Zimpher is a native of the village of Gallipolis in southern Ohio. Mark L. Macon (''born April 14, 1969'') is an American basketball coach and former professional player. He is the former head coach of Binghamton University and a current staff member at his alma mater, Temple University. The Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team represents Binghamton University and is located in Vestal, New York. The team currently competes in the America East Conference and plays its home games at the Binghamton University Events Center. Since becoming an NCAA Division I basketball program in 2001, the team has played in one NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament in 2009. History Since the school's founding in 1946 until 1998 the Bearcats, originally known as the Colonials, participated in the NCAA as a Division III basketball program. Todd Bozeman
Todd Anthony Bozeman (born December 5, 1963) is an American college basketball coach who is currently an assistant coach for Rhode Island Rams men's basketball, Rhode Island, where he also had a collegiate playing career. He was the head men's basketball coach at Morgan State Bears men's basketball, Morgan State University from 2006 to 2019. Berkeley Bozeman previously served as head coach at University of California, Berkeley from 1993 to 1996. He took over as interim coach in February 1993 when Lou Campanelli was fired with 10 games to go in the season. He led the Golden Bears to an upset of two-time defending national champion Duke Blue Devils, Duke in the second round of the 1993 tourney, becoming the youngest coach (29 years old) ever to take a team to the "Sweet Sixteen". The Maryland Terrapins, commonly referred to as the Terps, consist of 19 men's and women's varsity intercollegiate athletic teams that represent the University of Maryland, College Park in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I competition. Maryland was a founding member of the Southern Conference in 1921, a founding member of the Atlantic Coast Conference in 1952, and is now a member of the Big Ten Conference. The nickname was coined in 1932 by Harry C. "Curley" Byrd, then the school's football coach and later the school's president. Mark Leo Turgeon (born February 5, 1965) is an American college basketball coach. Turgeon served as the head men's basketball coach at Jacksonville State University from 1998 to 2000, Wichita State University from 2000 to 2007, Texas A&M University from 2007 to 2011 and University of Maryland, College Park from 2011 to 2021. The 2009 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament was a single-elimination tournament in which 65 schools competed to determine the national champion of the men's NCAA Division I college basketball as a culmination of the 2008–09 basketball season. John Thompson III
John Robert Thompson III (born March 11, 1966) is the assistant coach for the United States men's national basketball team since 2017. He previously served as the head coach of the men's basketball team at Georgetown University. He grew up in Washington, D.C. and was named first team All-Metro by ''The Washington Post'' while playing for Gonzaga College High School in 1984.
