Kevin Barrett (cricketer)
Kevin Andrew Owen Barrett (born 16 November 1975) is a former Welsh cricketer. Born in Swansea, he was a left-handed batsman and right-arm medium-pace bowler who played for Devon. Barrett studied at Millfield School and Durham University. He played for the Second XIs of Essex, Surrey, and Somerset between 1995 and 2000. This included spending two seasons (1999 and 2000) on the Surrey C.C.C. playing staff. Barrett's debut List A appearance came in the 1998 NatWest Trophy against Yorkshire, against whom he scored three runs. Barrett made his second and final List A appearance four years later, in the 2002 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy The 2002 Cheltenham and Gloucester Trophy was an English limited overs county cricket tournament which was held between 29 August 2001 and 31 August 2002. Kevin Barrett (born 6 July 1980) and attended Stonyhurst College. He was a rugby union player for Exeter Chiefs in the Aviva Premiership. He plays as a scrum-half. On 22 March 2011, Barrett announced his resignation from the Exeter Chiefs for the 2011/2012 season. Kevin Edward Barrett (born 26 February 1966) is a New Zealand former professional rugby union player. Biography Raised on the family farm in Pungarehu, Barrett was educated at Francis Douglas College in New Plymouth, which he left in fifth form to work on the farm. He played 167 games as a forward for Taranaki between 1986 and 1999. His nickname "Smiley" was coined at Taranaki from the faint smile he had during the physical on field battles. Barrett joined the Hurricanes as injury cover in 1997 and made four appearances that season, including as a flanker in their semi-final loss to the Brumbies. In 1998, Barrett was used as a lock and played 10 Super 12 games. Finishing up in New Zealand rugby in 1999, Barrett moved to County Meath, Ireland, the following year to manage a farm and he played rugby for Athlone-based club Buccaneers during the 2000–01 season.
