Kevin A. McCarthy (born 1950) is a former Democratic member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing the 37th District from 1997 to 2011. The district included all of Orland Hills, portions of Orland Park, Tinley Park, Oak Forest and unincorporated Frankfort Square. John Doody
John Thomas Doody Jr. (born January 15, 1945) is an American politician who served as a Republican member of the Illinois House of Representatives from the 37th district from September 1995 until January 1997 and later a Judge of the Cook County Circuit Court. Biography Doody was born January 15, 1945, in Evergreen Park, Illinois. He attended Illinois State University and St. Procopius College, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts from the latter institution. Doody later earned a Juris Doctor from John Marshall Law School. Doody was a soldier in the United States Army and is a veteran of the Vietnam War. Doody was, for a time, the Mayor of Homewood, Illinois. Doody was elected a township trustee of Bloom Township in 1981, a village trustee for Homewood in 1983, and Village President of Homewood in 1991. Charles W
The F/V ''Charles W'', also known as Annie J Larsen, is a historic fishing schooner anchored in Petersburg, Alaska. At the time of its retirement in 2000, it was the oldest fishing vessel in the fishing fleet of Southeast Alaska, and the only known wooden fishing vessel in the entire state still in active service. Launched in 1907, she was first used in the halibut fisheries of Puget Sound and the Bering Sea as the ''Annie J Larsen''. In 1925 she was purchased by the Alaska Glacier Seafood Company, refitted for shrimp trawling, and renamed ''Charles W'' in honor of owner Karl Sifferman's father. The company was one of the pioneers of the local shrimp fishery, a business it began to phase out due to increasing competition in the 1970s. Oak Forest is a city in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The city is out south-southwest of downtown Chicago in Bremen Township. Per the 2020 census, the population was 27,478. History Human habitation in Oak Forest began during the early Holocene. This is made evident by the remains of hunting camps on what would become the grounds of the city's hospital. Several millennia later, the final known indigenous settlement in Oak Forest, a Potawatomi longhouse village, was established nearby. However, it was abandoned by the 1620s. The origins of present-day Oak Forest begins with a railroad whistle stop on the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad 1 block south of the intersection of 167th street and Central Avenue which primarily served area dairy farmers.
