Kesivan Naidoo
Kesivan Dev Naidoo (born 25 June 1979) is a South African people, South African drummer, who plays predominantly jazz, electronica and world music. Musical studies 1979 – 1995 Born in East London, Eastern Cape, East London, Kesivan was the first child in a family of 2 children. His parents, Dev and Vinodrie Naidoo, worked as a building constructor and Assistant Accountant/Human Resources Administrator respectively and sent Kesivan to St. Ann's Primary School at the age of 5. He later graduated from Hudson Park High School in 1996. His mum played the piano until her matric year. Kesivan first got into drumming in 1990, at the age of 11. While waiting to be let into his aunt's house, he heard his aunt's boyfriend (Reese Timothy) playing drums over the music. What he heard excited him, and this convinced him to become a drummer. Hotep Idris Galeta (7 June 1941 – 3 November 2010) was a South African jazz pianist and educator. His legal name at birth was Cecil Galeta, but according to local custom he was more commonly known as a child and young man as Cecil Barnard, his father's first name being used instead of a last name. Biography Early years In his teens he played with some of the best jazz musicians in South Africa; Abdullah Ibrahim (then known as Dollar Brand) and Lami Zokufa introduced him to bebop and hard bop. Marcus Wyatt (musician)
Marcus Wyatt (born 1971, Port Elizabeth, South Africa), is a South African trumpeter, composer and producer. Wyatt was introduced to music, mostly folk and blues, at a young age as his father was chairman of the local folk club. He was introduced to the trumpet at age eleven and started playing in his school band where he learnt to read and play. He studied classical music and played with orchestras in the Port Elizabeth area. He was called up to the South African Defence Force's Naval Band for National Service and during this time he developed his love for jazz. He furthered his music studies at the University of Cape Town's College of Music. He completed a degree majoring in composition and arrangement. INTAKT
inTAKT is a German ecumenical association (''Verein'') for the promotion of new Christian songs for church services (Neues Geistliches Lied, NGL), and of art, culture and musical education. Its members are mostly hymnwriters and composers interested in NGL. Foundation and program Patrick Dehm and Eugen Eckert founded the association, together with other authors and composers of NGL, on 8 April 2013.
