The ''Kerrang!'' Awards 2008 were held in London, England, on 21 August 2008 at The Brewery (shopping centre), The Brewery in Romford and were hosted by Anthrax (American band), Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian. On 22 July 2008 ''Kerrang!'' announced the 2008 nominees. The main categories were dominated by Thirty Seconds to Mars and Bullet for My Valentine with four nominations, followed by Avenged Sevenfold with three. Thirty Seconds to Mars was the biggest winner of the night, taking home two awards. Nominations Winners are in bold text. Kerrang!
''Kerrang!'' is a British music webzine and quarterly magazine that primarily covers rock, punk and heavy metal music. Since 2017, the magazine has been published by Wasted Talent Ltd (the same company that owns electronic music publication '' Mixmag''). The magazine was named onomatopoeically after the sound of a "guitar being struck with force". ''Kerrang!'' was first published on 6 June 1981 as a one-off "Heavy Metal Special" from the now-defunct '' Sounds'' newspaper. Due to the popularity of the issue, the magazine became a monthly publication, before transitioning into a weekly in 1987. Initially devoted to the new wave of British heavy metal and the rise of hard rock acts, ''Kerrang!'' musical emphasis has changed several times, focusing on grunge, nu metal, post-hardcore, emo and other alternative rock and metal genres over the course of its forty-year publication history. Slaves To Gravity
Slaves to Gravity were a British alternative rock band. Formed in London in the summer of 2006, they played their final gig in October 2011. Career Slaves To Gravity were formed by the three remaining members of London-based band The Ga Ga's, along with Mark Verney, formerly of Ariel-X, in 2006. Throughout late 2006 and early 2007 the band toured throughout the UK and US, and recorded their self-produced debut album at The Chapel Studios in Lincolnshire in summer 2007. ''Scatter the Crow'' was mixed by Chris Sheldon, and released early in 2008 on the band's Gravitas label. Four singles from the album entered the UK rock chart singles Top 10, and the band were subsequently named Best British Newcomer at the 2008 Kerrang! Awards. Madina Lake
Madina Lake is an American rock band formed in Chicago, Illinois, United States, in 2005. The band released their debut album, '' From Them, Through Us, to You'', through Roadrunner Records on March 27, 2007. Madina Lake won Best International Newcomer at the Kerrang! Awards 2007. The group disbanded in September 2013 before reuniting in February 2017. My Chemical Romance is an American Rock music, rock band from New Jersey. Lostprophets (stylised as lostprophets or LOSTPROPHETS) were a Welsh rock band from Pontypridd, formed in 1997 by singer Ian Watkins and guitarist Lee Gaze. The group was founded after their former band Fleshbind broke up. They later recruited Mike Lewis on guitars, Stuart Richardson on bass and Mike Chiplin on drums. Black Tide

A Day to Remember is an American Rock music, rock band formed in Ocala, Florida, in 2003 by guitarist Tom Denney and drummer Bobby Scruggs. They are known for their amalgamation of metalcore and pop-punk.
