Jacob Kerlin McKenty (January 19, 1827 – January 3, 1866) was an American attorney and politician. A Democrat, he was most notable for his service as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Pennsylvania. Biography Jacob K. McKenty was born in Douglassville, Pennsylvania on January 19, 1827, the son of Henry McKenty and Eleanor (or Elenor) McKenty. He graduated from Yale College in 1848 and Yale Law School in 1850. He completed his studies by reading law with William Strong, was admitted to the bar in 1851 and commenced practice in Reading, Pennsylvania. He served as prosecuting attorney of Berks County, Pennsylvania from 1856 to 1859. McKenty was elected as a Democrat to the Thirty-sixth Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the death of John Schwartz and served from December 3, 1860 to March 3, 1861. Mark Kerlin (born February 1, 1962) is a retired U.S. soccer forward who spent most of his career in indoor leagues. He also played one season in the Western Soccer League and two in the American Professional Soccer League. Kerlin, brother of Scott Kerlin, uncle of Drake Zane Kerlin, was born in Phoenix, Arizona, where he attended Moon Valley High School, graduating in 1980. In 1981, he signed with the Phoenix Inferno of the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL). He played each of the last fourteen games of the 1981–1982 season, scoring ten goals. In 1982, he moved outdoors with the Oklahoma City Slickers of the American Soccer League. In 1983, the team changed its name to the Phoenix Pride. Orie Milton Kerlin (January 23, 1891 – October 29, 1974), known also as Cy Kerlin, was a professional baseball player for one season (1915). During that season, he played with the Major League Baseball (MLB) Pittsburgh Rebels of the Federal League. Kerlin appeared in three games with the Rebels, never getting a hit in one at-bat.
