Carla Maffioletti
Carla Maffioletti is a Brazilian soprano. She was born in the second largest city in southern Brazil, Porto Alegre, a port town on Guaíba River. As a very young girl she began playing the violin before changing to classical guitar. Her talents were such that by her early teens she was performing at concerts throughout the country. While at university she began taking singing lessons and very quickly developed her outstanding voice. Multilingual, Maffioletti decided to study voice at the Maastricht Academy of Music in Maastricht, the Netherlands, as did her friend Carmen Monarcha. While attending the academy, she came to the attention of André Rieu who hired her as a vocalist with his Johann Strauss Orchestra. Andreas Vollenweider (born 4 October 1953) is a Swiss harpist. He is generally categorised as a new-age musician and uses a modified electroacoustic harp of his own design. He has worked with Bobby McFerrin, Carly Simon, Luciano Pavarotti and in 1987 received a Grammy Award for the album ''Down to the Moon''. Vollenweider's style has been described by ''The New York Times'' as "swirling atmospheric music, which evokes nature, magic and fairy tales". Michael Hoppé is an English musician, composer, and record producer. In the early 1980s, he was head of A&R for PolyGram Records and signed new-age artists including Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarre, and Kitaro as well as resigning ABBA and the Who. Biography Hoppé lives in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. He is the grandson of Emil Otto Hoppé, and many of his albums feature Emil's photography. Michael Hoppé was a senior executive at PolyGram. In 1984, Hoppé left PolyGram to focus on composing, published by his company Chordially Yours Music, and working as a music consultant for InterConnection Resources in Los Angeles.
