Kerala Mathematical Association
Kerala Mathematical Association is an organisation established in 1962 to serve the mathematical community comprising students, teachers and researchers inside Kerala and outside. It has a membership of around 1000 of which nearly half are life members and about 300 are from outside Kerala and outside India. Overview The Association regularly organises, on an average ten to twelve a year, national/international workshops, seminars in different parts of Kerala. The Association also regularly publishes the proceedings of these seminars and workshops. Focusing on teachers and students the Association conducts regional orientation programmes on new developments in mathematics. Since 2004 the association is publishing an international journal ''Bulletin of Kerala Mathematical Association'' which contains original research papers on Mathematics and its applications, with two issues in a year. Kerala
Kerala ( ; ) is a state on the Malabar Coast of India. It was formed on 1 November 1956, following the passage of the States Reorganisation Act, by combining Malayalam-speaking regions of the erstwhile regions of Cochin, Malabar, South Canara, and Thiruvithamkoor. Spread over , Kerala is the 21st largest Indian state by area. It is bordered by Karnataka to the north and northeast, Tamil Nadu to the east and south, and the Lakshadweep Sea to the west. International Commission On The History Of Mathematics
The International Commission on the History of Mathematics was established in 1971 to promote the study of history of mathematics. Kenneth O. May provided its initial impetus. In 1974, its official journal Historia Mathematica began publishing. Every four years the Commission bestows the Kenneth O. May Medal upon a deserving historian of mathematics. In 1981, in Bucharest, the first in a series of symposia was held in conjunction with the International Congress of History of Science. In 1985, the ICHM became an inter-union commission of both the International Mathematical Union and the International Union of History and Philosophy of Science. In 1989 the first Kenneth O. May prize was awarded to Dirk Struik and Adolf P. Yushkevich. Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) is a state government-owned autonomous university in Kochi, Kerala, India. It was founded in 1971 and has three campuses: two in Kochi (Kalamassery and Ernakulam) and one in Kuttanad, Alappuzha, inland. Indian Mathematical Society
Indian Mathematical Society (IMS) is the oldest organization in India devoted to the promotion of study and research in mathematics. The Society was founded in April 1907 by V. Ramaswami Aiyar with its headquarters at Pune. The Society started its activities under the tentatively proposed name ''Analytic Club'' and the name was soon changed to ''Indian Mathematical Club''. After the adoption of a new constitution in 1910, the society acquired its present name, namely, the Indian Mathematical Society. The first president of the Society was B. Hanumantha Rao. Calcutta Mathematical Society
The Calcutta Mathematical Society (CalMathSoc) is an association of professional mathematicians dedicated to the interests of mathematical research and education in India. The Society has its head office located at Kolkata, India. History Calcutta Mathematical Society was established on 6 September 1908 under the stewardship of Sir Asutosh Mookerjee, the then Vice-Chancellor of Calcutta University. He was the founder president of the Society, and was assisted by Sir Gurudas Banerjee, Prof. C.E. Cullis and Prof. Gauri Sankar Dey as Vice Presidents and Prof. Phanindra Lal Ganguly as the Founder Secretary of the organization. The Kerala school of astronomy and mathematics or the Kerala school was a school of Indian mathematics, mathematics and Indian astronomy, astronomy founded by Madhava of Sangamagrama in Kingdom of Tanur, Tirur, Malappuram district, Malappuram, Kerala, India, which included among its members: Parameshvara, Neelakanta Somayaji, Jyeshtadeva, Achyuta Pisharati, Melpathur Narayana Bhattathiri and Achyuta Panikkar.
