Keon Sabb
Keon Sabb (born September 18, 2002) is an American football safety for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He previously played for the Michigan Wolverines, winning a national championship in 2023. Early life and high school Sabb attended multiple high schools starting at Glassboro High School, then transferring to Williamstown High School for his junior year then finishing at IMG Academy for his senior season. In Sabb's freshman season he totaled 46 tackles, seven pass deflections, and six interceptions. In his sophomore season, Sabb defensively had 31 tackles and five interceptions. Offensively he had 29 receptions for 376 yards, and six touchdowns, while also throwing a touchdown pass. In Sabb's junior season, he played both ways making 19 catches for 358 yards and three touchdowns, while also notching 19 tackles. Safety is a position in gridiron football on the American football positions#Defense, defense. The safeties are defensive backs who line up ten to fifteen yards from the line of scrimmage. There are two variations of the position: the free safety and the strong safety. Their duties depend on the defensive scheme. The defensive responsibilities of the safety and cornerback usually involve pass coverage towards the middle and sidelines of the field. While American (11-player) formations generally use two safeties, Canadian (12-player) formations generally have one safety and two Halfback (Canadian football), defensive halfbacks, a position not used in the American game. The NCAA transfer portal is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) application, database, and compliance tool launched on October 15, 2018, to manage and facilitate the process for student athletes seeking to transfer between member institutions. The transfer portal permits student athletes to place their name in an online database declaring their desire to transfer. Athletes enter the portal by informing their current school of their desire to transfer; the school then has two business days to enter the athlete's name in the database. Once an athlete's name is entered in the database, coaches and staff from other schools are permitted to make contact with the athlete to inquire about their interest in visiting the campus and accepting a scholarship. The Washington Huskies football team represents the University of Washington in college football. Washington competes in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) as a member of the Pac-12 Conference. Husky Stadium, located on campus, has served as the home field for Washington since 1920. Washington has won 17 conference championships, seven Rose Bowls, and claims two national championships recognized by NCAA-designated major selectors. The 2023–24 College Football Playoff was a single-elimination postseason tournament that determined the national champion of the 2023 NCAA Division I FBS football season.
