Keo Woolford
Keo Woolford (January 26, 1967 – November 28, 2016) was an American actor, producer, and director. He was born and raised in Hawaii. He directed the award-winning feature film ''The Haumāna'' and the East West Players stage play ''Three Year Swim Club''. He starred in his self-written one-man show, ''I Land'', and as the King of Siam in Rodgers and Hammerstein's ''The King and I'' at the London Palladium. He was a member of the Hawaii boyband Brownskin and the Hobo House on the Hill recording team responsible for the Grammy-nominated ''Island Warriors'' album. He was a recipient of the Na Hoku Hanohano Award for The Haumāna Soundtrack. His film and TV work included ''Godzilla'', ''Act of Valor'', '' The Haumāna'', and Sergeant Detective Chang on ''Hawaii Five-0''. He died on November 28, 2016, at Pali Momi Medical Center after suffering a stroke three days earlier. Big Island Film Festival
The Big Island Film Festival is a film festival held at the Mauna Lani Resort on the Kohala Coast on the Big Island of Hawaii. The festival, which has been held every May between 2006 and 2016, features short and feature films by independent filmmakers from around the world, as well as food and beverage events, celebrities and Hawaiian music and culture. New independent narrative films are eligible for Golden Honu Awards. Founder is Leo Sears. Currently the future of the festival is uncertain as it has not been organized for the last 3 years. Ovation Award
The Ovation Awards are a Southern California award for excellence in theatre, established in 1989. They are given out by the non-profit arts service organization LA Stage Alliance and are the only peer-judged theatre awards in Los Angeles. The Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival (PAAFF) is an annual film festival in Philadelphia that shows feature films and short films by and about Asian Americans. Run by the nonprofit Philadelphia Asian American Film and Filmmakers, the 10-day festival takes place in November, with additional screenings held year-round. Events and films expose audiences to the diverse Asian American experience. The first annual festival took place on October 9–12, 2008, catalyzed by the growth of filmmaking and the many Asian Americans in the area. Hawaii International Film Festival
The Hawai'i International Film Festival (HIFF) is an annual film festival held in the United States state of Hawaii. HIFF has a focus on Asian-Pacific cinema, education, and the work of new and emerging filmmakers. Wairoa Māori Film Festival
The Wairoa Māori Film Festival is New Zealand's premiere Māori and indigenous film festival. The festival is held annually in the small coastal town of Nūhaka, Hawke's Bay, during the Matariki celebration period. The festival first occurred in 2005 and is now an annual event. Pali Momi Medical Center
Pali Momi Medical Center is a nonprofit hospital located in Waimalu, West Oahu. It has 118 beds, and has a full range of services, including an interventional cardiac catheterization lab, CT scan and MRI services, and the state's first Retina Center. Pali Momi's emergency services division employs a team triage method, and is the only hospital in Hawaii to do so. It also has a simulation lab to further train their staff.
