Kentucky Route 155
Kentucky Route 155 (KY 155) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Kentucky. The route originates at a junction with U.S. Route 31E and US 150 (Bardstown Road) in Louisville, Kentucky. On the other side of intersection, KY 155 becomes a local road called Trevilian Way. KY 155 continues through several Louisville suburbs to Jeffersontown, Kentucky and into Spencer County, where it eventually merges with Kentucky Route 55 a few miles north of Taylorsville, Kentucky. It is known locally as Taylorsville Road from its northern terminus until a junction with Kentucky Route 148 in Jefferson County, where it is known as Taylorsville Lake Road until reaching its southern terminus. Despite what its two local names would suggest, KY 155 itself does not actually reach either Taylorsville Lake or Taylorsville, but through connecting roads it is the primary non-interstate link between Louisville and both of those locations. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is Kentucky's state-funded agency charged with building and maintaining federal highways and Kentucky state highways, as well as regulating other transportation related issues. The Transportation Cabinet is led by the Kentucky Secretary of Transportation, who is appointed by the governor of Kentucky. The current Secretary is Jim Gray, who was appointed by Democratic Governor Andy Beshear. As of October 2012, KYTC maintains of roadways in the state. Taylorsville Lake
Taylorsville Lake is a artificial lake or reservoir located mainly in Spencer County, Kentucky. As of 12/19/21 Taylorsville Lake has become a hotspot for migrating ducks. According to Central KY Waterfowlers the lake is currently holding a record number of waterfowl. It has been estimated over 20,000 ducks have been harvested in 3 days. Construction by the United States Army Corps of Engineers started in 1974, and flooding began in 1983. The total cost of the lake was $103 million. It is about long. Backwater areas of the lake are also located in Nelson County and Anderson County. The dam is located on the Salt River, and it is estimated that it has prevented more than $129 million in flood damages since it became operational. Kentucky Route 2048 (KY 2048) is a north–south state highway extending across eastern Louisville, Kentucky. The southern terminus of the route is at Kentucky Route 155 (Taylorsville Road) adjacent to Bowman Field. The northern terminus is at U.S. Route 60 (Frankfort Avenue). KY 2048 is named Dutchmans Lane from KY 155 to Cannons Lane, and Cannons Lane from Dutchmans Lane to US 60. The route has an interchange with Interstate 64 along its Cannons Lane segment. Route description KY 2048 begins at an intersection with KY 155 in Louisville, heading northeast on four-lane undivided Dutchmans Lane. Interstate 265 (I-265) is a Interstate Highway partially encircling the Louisville metropolitan area. Starting from I-65 in the southern part of Louisville, it runs through Jefferson County, Kentucky, crosses the Ohio River on the Lewis and Clark Bridge into Indiana, meets I-65 for a second time, and then proceeds westbound to terminate at the I-64 interchange. The entire Kentucky stretch of the road is cosigned with Kentucky Route 841 (KY 841). An additional stretch of freeway between U.S. Route 31W (US 31W)/ US 60/ KY 1934 and I-65 in the southern Louisville is solely designated as KY 841. The highway is named the Gene Snyder Freeway (originally named the Jefferson Freeway), after the former congressman, and usually called "the Snyder" by locals. Interstate 264 (I-264) is a partial loop around the city of Louisville, Kentucky, south of the Ohio River. An auxiliary route of I-64, it is signed as the Shawnee Expressway for its first from its western terminus at I-64/ U.S. Route 150 (US 150) to US 31W/ US 60 and as the Watterson Expressway for the remainder of its length from US 31W/US 60 to its northeastern terminus at I-71. It is in length and runs an open circle around central Louisville. The highway begins west of Downtown Louisville at I-64 just east of the Sherman Minton Bridge, which links Southern Indiana with Kentucky as it crosses the Ohio River.
