Kent Street (Ottawa)
Kent Street is a major street in downtown Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. One block west of Bank Street, Kent is one way running north. It begins at the Queensway at the south and ends at Wellington Street. The street has fewer storefronts than Bank Street. South of downtown it is mainly small and medium-sized office buildings, with some restaurants and residences. The northern part of the street is home to several large office towers, mainly governmental. It was originally known as Hugh Street. Place de Ville is a complex of office towers in downtown Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It consists of four office buildings: Place de Ville A, B, and C; and the 'Podium' building, which houses a shuttered "piggy-back" cinema enveloped with functional office space. The complex also has two large hotels, the Delta Ottawa City Centre (410 rooms) and Ottawa Marriott Hotel (487 rooms). The buildings are linked by an underground shopping complex. Ottawa Central Bus Station
Ottawa Central Station was the main inter-city bus station in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It was located 1.5 km south of downtown Ottawa in the Centretown neighbourhood and served buses from Greyhound Canada, Ontario Northland and Autobus Gatineau. It closed on June 1, 2021, and the land it sat on is now owned by Brigil, a real estate developer, who plans to build a multi-use space for housing, dining, retail, and other businesses. Ottawa Central Station was located at 265 Catherine Street, between Lyon Street and Kent Street. Catherine Street lies directly north of Ontario Highway 417 (known locally as the ''Queensway''), which is the main expressway through Ottawa. East Memorial Building
The East Memorial Building and West Memorial Building are a pair of government buildings in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. History Construction started in 1949 to house the rapidly growing Department of Veterans Affairs. The buildings were thus originally named the Veterans Memorial Buildings. They were designed by George Roper Gouinlock (son of architect George Wallace Gouinlock) and H.L. Allward and appears to be a stripped down Art Deco style. The National Capital Commission (NCC) in collaboration with Public Works and Government Services Canada erected a historical plaque: A memorial is dedicated to the memory of 1701 Men of the Canadian Bank of Commerce who served in the Great War.
