Kent D. Logsdon
Kent Doyle Logsdon is an American diplomat who has served as the U.S. ambassador to Moldova since February 2022. He previously served as the U.S. chargé d'affaires for Germany. Early life A Sewickley, Pennsylvania native, Logsdon has a master's degree in international relations from the University of Virginia and a bachelor's degree in government from the University of Notre Dame. Career A foreign service officer (a member of the Senior Foreign Service), Logsdon was chief of staff to under secretary for economic growth, energy and the environment Keith J. Krach from September 30, 2019, to July 30, 2021. Previously, he served as the principal deputy assistant secretary in the Bureau of Energy Resources. Maia Sandu
Maia Sandu (; born 24 May 1972) is a Moldovan politician who has been the President of Moldova since 24 December 2020. She is the former leader of the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) and former Prime Minister of Moldova from 8 June 2019 until 14 November 2019. On 12 November 2019, Sandu's government collapsed after a vote of no-confidence, with 63 (deputies from PSRM and PDM) of the 101 MPs having voted on the motion submitted by the PSRM. Sandu was Minister of Education from 2012 to 2015 and member of the Parliament of Moldova from 2014 to 2015, and again in 2019. She was selected as the joint candidate of the pro-European PPDA and PAS parties for president of Moldova in the 2016 election. In parliamentary procedure, a voice vote (from the Latin ''viva voce'', meaning "live voice") or acclamation is a voting method in deliberative assemblies (such as legislatures) in which a group vote is taken on a topic or motion by responding vocally. The voice vote is considered the simplest and quickest of voting methods used by deliberative assemblies. The presiding officer or chair of the assembly will put the question to the assembly, asking first for all those in favor of the motion to indicate so orally ("aye" or "yea"), and then ask second all those opposed to the motion to indicate so verbally ("no" or "nay").
