Kenny Vaughan
Kenneth Vaughan is an American guitarist. He is best known as a long-time member of Marty Stuart’s supporting band, The Fabulous Superlatives. Career Early life Vaughan was born in Oklahoma, but raised in Denver, Colorado. His guitar instructor was Bill Frisell. In the late 1960s, Vaughan played in a number of rock bands in the Littleton area (where he lived), including a progressive rock group called Amos. Soon after, Vaughan joined a local progressive jazz band, then began playing country music in local bars. Vaughan was a member of Colorado punk band Jonny III in the late 1970s and early 80s. This band started Vaughan's partnership with his long-time songwriting partner Jeffrey Leroy Smith, better known as Leroy X. He moved to Nashville in the 1980s, where he became known as a country music guitarist. ''Live At The Ryman'' is American country singer Marty Stuart's 15th album. This album is significant as it is the first (and so far, only) album composed of entirely live performances. The Accidental Album Marty Stuart had just finished his tour with Merle Haggard, The Old Crow Medicine Show and his wife, Connie Smith. The tour, dubbed the 'Electric Barnyard Tour' was designed to bring a show to what Haggard called "the forgotten people" (poor people in small towns across rural America). However, due to incredibly hot weather, the tour was unsuccessful at the box office, which left Stuart feeling distraught. He then was even more disappointed to be reminded that almost a year earlier, he had agreed to perform a bluegrass show at the Ryman Auditorium. A ballad is a form of verse, often a narrative set to music. Ballads derive from the medieval French ''chanson balladée'' or ''ballade'', which were originally "dance songs". Ballads were particularly characteristic of the popular poetry and song of Britain and Ireland from the Late Middle Ages until the 19th century. Valco was a US manufacturer of guitar amplifiers from the 1940s through 1968. Apart from its original products, Valco also commercialised electric and acoustic guitars and basses through its subsidiary companies. History Valco was formed in 1940 by three business partners and former owners of the National Dobro Company; Victor Smith, Al Frost, and Louis Dopyera. The company name was a combination of the three partner's first initials (V.A.L.) plus the common abbreviation for company (Co.) Valco manufactured and sold electric (since the 1950s), resonator, lap steel and classical guitars and vacuum tube amplifiers under a variety of brand names including Supro, Airline, National and Oahu. Fender Princeton
The Fender Princeton was a guitar amplifier made by Fender. It was introduced in 1947 and discontinued in 1979. After Fender introduced the Champ Amp in 1948, the Princeton occupied the next to the bottom spot in the Fender line. Fender Princetons (as well as their sister amp the Princeton Reverb) from the early models into the 1970s models are highly valued particularly as recording amplifiers. The first Princeton, the "Woody" (so called for its uncovered wooden cabinet), was the smallest of the original Fender line of three amplifiers, an incredibly basic 3-watt practice amp with no controls at all, not even a power switch.
