Kenny Carroll
Kenneth Edward Desmond Carroll (born 22 March 1983) is an Irish cricketer. He was born at Booterstown, Dublin, educated at Oatlands College, Stillorgan, and currently works for the Irish postal service, An Post. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm leg break bowler. He currently plays for Railway Union and has represented the Southern XI, Ireland U-23, Ireland A and made his debut for the senior team in 2006. The Dublin-born player has played in the 2006 European Championships having represented Ireland's Under-23 team in the same tournament earlier in the year, winning the award for Player of the Tournament. He also played in the 2006 EurAsia Cricket Series, but Ireland's A team finished bottom of their group in the competition. Booterstown
Booterstown () is a coastal suburb of the city of Dublin in Ireland. It is also a townland and civil parish in the modern county of Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown. It is situated about south of Dublin city centre. History There is some debate on the origin of the town name Booterstown. Historically known in English as "Ballyboother" the name "Booterstown" is an anglicised form of the original Irish name ''Baile an Bhóthair'', meaning "The Town of the Road". In its original Irish form it shares the same name as Batterstown in County Meath, as well as Ballinvoher in Kilkenny, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Longford and Mayo. The Men's Irish Hockey League is a field hockey league organised by Hockey Ireland that features men's teams from both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The league was first played for during the 2008–09 season. It replaced the All-Ireland Club Championships as the top level men's field hockey competition in Ireland.
