Kenney is a village in DeWitt County, Illinois, United States. The population was 326 at the 2010 census. It was named for its founder, Moses Kenney. Kenney, Texas
Kenney (also Kinney) is an unincorporated community in northern Austin County, Texas, United States. According to the Handbook of Texas, the community had a population of 200 in 2000. It is located within the Greater Houston metropolitan area. History The area around Kenney was first settled in the 1820s with German immigrants arriving in the 1830s through 1900, but the community itself was not started until 1880 when a station on the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railway between Brenham and Bellville and a post office was established. The community was originally named Thompson for its first postmaster JE Thompson. After four years under that name, the community was renamed Kenneyville in 1884 in honor of evangelist John Wesley Kenney; the name was shortened to Kenney in 1892. The community thrived in 1885 with a steam-powered gristmill and cotton gin, three churches, several businesses, and 150 residents. Its population shrank to 75 in 1890. Hotel Kenney
Hotel Kenney is a hotel near Jones Falls on the Rideau Canal in the township of Rideau Lakes, Ontario, Canada. Parks Canada describes the hotel as having been built as a fishing lodge in a period when excursion steamers operated along the canal. The hotel was built in 1888, on the site of an earlier building which had been destroyed in a fire. It is open early May to late October. The hotel was owned by members of the Kenney family for many years. In 2008, Franklin Folts, a clothing store owner and resident of Martha's Vineyard, bought the hotel at an auction. Kenney Glacier
Kenney Glacier () is a glacier long flowing northwest from The Pyramid and The Saddlestone into Depot Glacier, near the head of Hope Bay, Trinity Peninsula, Antarctica. It was mapped in 1945 and 1948 by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey (FIDS), was resurveyed by the FIDS in 1955, and was named for Richard Kenney, assistant surveyor at Hope Bay in 1954 and 1955, who made a detailed local survey of the area between Hope Bay and Duse Bay.
