Kenneth Morolong
Itiseng Kenneth Morolong (born 17 February 1982) is a South African politician, who was elected as a Member of Parliament for the African National Congress in the 2019 national elections. In March 2023, Morolong was appointed as Deputy Minister in the Presidency. Background Morolong was born on 17 February 1982 in Schweizer-Reneke. He matriculated from Itshupeng Secondary School. He is currently studying for a Bachelor of Public Administration through MANCOSA. From 1991 to 1994, he was president of the ANC's young pioneers group. He served as the provincial chairperson of the Congress of South African Students (COSAS) in the North West from 1998 to 2000. He was the regional coordinator of the African National Congress Youth League in the former Bophirima region in 2001/2002. Morolong later served as the chief executive officer of IKM Trading Enterprise from 2008 to 2009. Nomasonto Motaung
Nomasonto Evelyn Motaung (born 1985 or 1986) is a South African politician who was elected as a Member of Parliament (MP) for the African National Congress in the 2019 national election. In March 2023, she was appointed as Deputy Minister in the Presidency. Political career In 2019, Motaung stood for election to the South African National Assembly as 84th on the ANC's national list. She was elected to the National Assembly and was sworn in as a Member of Parliament on 22 May 2019. At the age of 33, she was one of the youngest MPs elected at the election. She served on the Portfolio Committee on Trade and Industry. The African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) is the youth wing of the African National Congress (ANC). As set out in its constitution, the ANC Youth League is led by a National Executive Committee (NEC) and a National Working Committee (NWC). Foundation The idea of the formation of the ANC youth league started in 1943, in Orlando, Soweto at Walter Sisulu's house by Anton Lembede, A.P. Mda, Jordan Ngubane, Nelson Mandela and Oliver Tambo. Its founders felt that ANC was dominated by conservative and older generation who cannot relate to the youth. This "older generation" had used deputations and delegations to try to get the Union government to grant equal rights to all but it became increasingly clear that this tactic was ineffective. The Congress of South African Students (COSAS) is an anti-apartheid Student Organisation established in 1979 in the wake of the June 16 Soweto Uprisings in 1976 in South Africa. Background COSAS was formed in June 1979 after the South African Students' Movement was banned in 1977. It set out to organise black students at secondary, night, technical and teacher training schools as well as correspondence colleges. Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa (born 17 November 1952) is a South African businessman and politician who is currently serving as the fifth democratically elected president of South Africa. National Assembly Of South Africa
The National Assembly is the directly elected house of the Parliament of South Africa, located in Cape Town, Western Cape. It consists of four hundred members who are elected every five years using a party-list proportional representation system where half of the members are elected proportionally from nine provincial lists and the remaining half from national lists so as to restore proportionality. The National Assembly is presided over by a Speaker, assisted by a Deputy Speaker. The current Speaker is Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula who previously served as the Minister of Defence and Military Veterans. She was elected on 19 August 2021.
